The Emperor Wants a Daughter

After the Horus Heresy, Imperial Regent Guilliman implemented the Codex Astartes, dividing the immense Astartes Legions into smaller, more manageable Chapters to prevent another warlord like Horus from wielding such overwhelming military power.

Yet Chen Xi's use of the term "Legion" at this moment clearly carried a certain implication, pointing to a threat the Imperium might currently face—one requiring a far larger military formation to confront.

"As for the other Primarchs," Chen Xi added, "Lord Roboute Guilliman, ruler of Ultramar's Five Hundred Worlds, remains within the Stasis Field on Macragge, in a state of technical slumber. He has yet to return.

"Corax, Vulkan, Dorn, Khan... their whereabouts remain a mystery. Imperial records state that they either fell during the latter stages of the rebellion or vanished during the ten thousand years of wars that followed. To this day, there have been no confirmed reports of their return."

Chen Xi then turned the subject toward the Lion King's own return.

"And my coming to the Rock and finding a way to awaken you ahead of time was precisely at the Emperor's guidance." Chen Xi's tone held an unquestionable solemnity. "Upon the Golden Throne, the Emperor observes the fate of the galaxy through His supreme will.

"He foresaw that a tremendous upheaval was approaching, a cosmic catastrophe far beyond any previous Black Crusade, one that would tear apart reality itself.

"Originally, according to certain ancient prophecies or the Emperor's arrangements, your time to return should have come after the Great Rift opened.

"But the urgency of the situation exceeded all expectations. The Emperor believes that the Imperium must gather every available force in advance.

"You, Lord Lion El'Jonson, along with the strength represented by the Dark Angels and their successor Chapters, are indispensable pillars in the Imperium's defense against the coming storm."
