Battle of Karmas 2

Lion El'Jonson stood on the bridge of the Indomitable Truth, calmly watching the enemy's frenzy.

He was not the least shaken by becoming the focal point. Instead, he used it to continually adjust the fleet formation, luring the enemy deeper while ordering the Crimson Crescent fleet and Imperial Navy destroyer squadrons on the flanks to seize opportunities to cut off and encircle the overextended enemy vessels.

"Hold formation. Withdraw steadily. Draw them into the overlapping fire of the orbital defense platforms." The Lion King's voice carried clearly through the communications channels to the captains of every Imperial ship.

His command was steady and seasoned, making full use of their defensive advantages and the terrain.

Just as the space battle reached a deadlock, the second wave of attacks from the Ten Thousand Eyes warband arrived as expected.

Thousands of drop pods, Assault Boats, and transport craft rose from behind the Chaos fleet like venomous wasps pouring from a hive. Ignoring the fire exchanged by both sides, they charged boldly toward the surface of Karmas.

Most of these drop pods bore blasphemous symbols, their exteriors twisted and distorted, trailing dark green or deep crimson flames as they crashed toward the planet's surface like a meteor shower.

"Enemy airborne forces have begun deployment," the sensor operator reported loudly in the command center. "Their numbers are enormous. Landing sites are expected across the major continents, with the main concentration around the fortress-monastery."

"Ground defense forces, take up combat positions." The Lion King shifted his gaze from the orbital chart to the image of Karmas's surface displayed on the main screen. "Leona, ground command is yours."

Leona nodded without hesitation. She turned, the servos of her Power Armor giving off a soft hum as she strode toward the command center exit.
