Arc 15The Return of Yuanshi

Bai Yu defeated Shen Ni, strengthened his cultivation, and continued toward the Eastern Sea while the Primordial Lord of Heaven returned to the Lotus Lantern World to confront Hongjun. After Bai Yu helped him merge his Three Corpses and attain the Law Enlightenment Path, Yuanshi defeated Hongjun’s corpses, escaped Hongjun’s sealed world at will, and returned to rejoin the world.

  • Bai Yu defeated Shen Ni with the Mysterious Bright Treasure Bead, claimed the black spear as the God-Slaying Spear, and received Heavenly Dao Merit for Shen Ni’s death.
  • Bai Yu traveled toward the Eastern Sea, gathered spiritual roots and treasures, then found and took the Enlightenment Tea Tree before cultivating until he reached the Twenty-eighth Order Late-Daluo Golden Immortal realm.
  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven reorganized the Exposition Sect and left Yang Jian behind before returning to the Lotus Lantern World, where Hongjun had been refining the Heavenly Dao.
  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven stole nearly seventy percent of the Lotus Lantern World’s World Origin, but Hongjun and the five Sages attacked him and tried to contain him.
  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven discovered that his severed Three Corpses prevented him from attaining the Law Enlightenment Path, so Bai Yu’s Law Dao Body merged them and enabled his advancement.
  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven’s Three Corpses defeated Hongjun’s, and Yuanshi fought Hongjun in a stalemate that enveloped the Lotus Lantern World.
  • Yuanshi repeatedly escaped Hongjun’s sealed world through Myriad Worlds City, forcing Hongjun to abandon his attempt to control him and bring him to the Purple Firmament Palace.
  • Yuanshi told Hongjun and the other Sages that he had returned to rejoin the world.
Chapters 351–375 Vol. 4 Read

Ch. 351That Was an Option?!

Bai Yu confronted the burly leader of the ferocious beasts, whose God-Slaying Spear and mid-Daluo Golden Immortal strength made him a dangerous opponent. The leader revealed that he was the Fierce Beast Emperor, then adopted the name Shen Ni after Bai Yu asked whether he was Shen Ni.

  • Bai Yu recognized the black spear's extreme Slaughter Great Dao and suspected it was the God-Slaying Spear, while protecting himself with the Mysterious Bright Treasure Bead.
  • Dozens of Daluo Golden Immortal ferocious beasts surrounded Bai Yu but stopped at the pressure of his Innate Supreme Treasure.
  • The burly middle-aged leader asked which Chaos Demon God Bai Yu was reincarnated from, but Bai Yu instead asked if he was the Fierce Beast Emperor.
  • The leader confirmed that the ferocious beasts honored him as their strongest, and explained that ferocious beasts were born without names.
  • After Bai Yu asked whether he was Shen Ni, the leader decided he liked the name and proclaimed himself Shen Ni, the Fierce Beast Emperor.

Ch. 352A glint of cold light! Might bearing down on the Primordial World!

Bai Yu attacked Shen Ni, annihilated his Ferocious Beast followers, and overwhelmed Shen Ni’s concentrated Slaughter Great Dao with the fully unleashed power of the Mysterious Bright Treasure Bead. The bead’s four complete Origin Great Daos sent their power across the entire Primordial World, terrifying its countless inhabitants.

  • Shen Ni sensed the four complete Origin Great Daos in Bai Yu’s Mysterious Bright Treasure Bead and reconsidered fighting him.
  • Bai Yu attacked Shen Ni, and Shen Ni raised his black spear to fight back as his Ferocious Beasts charged.
  • Bai Yu used the bead’s Great Dao power to annihilate Shen Ni’s dozens of Daluo Golden Immortal Ferocious Beasts.
  • Shen Ni engulfed the region in darkness and launched a concentrated strike with his black spear and Slaughter Great Dao.
  • Bai Yu unleashed all four complete Great Daos of the fully refined Mysterious Bright Treasure Bead, breaking Shen Ni’s attack and spreading its power across the Primordial World.
  • Countless Innate Beings and Innate Divine Demons throughout the Primordial World trembled in fear at the Great Dao’s power.

Ch. 353The Jade Plate of Creation! Recording All the Heavens!

Hongjun’s Jade Plate of Creation was revealed to be a core fragment with the potential to record all things, though it could currently only aid Dao comprehension. When Hongjun sensed the power of a complete Great Dao near Bai Yu and Shen Ni, he realized his own Dao had been suppressed and wondered whether someone had already attained the Dao.

  • The Jade Plate of Creation was explained to record principles and powers only when it could observe their origins, while Hongjun’s fragment currently served mainly as an enhanced aid to Dao comprehension.
  • The fragment held only an incomplete portion of the three thousand Great Dao principles, and it could reach its full potential only after Hongjun advanced and gained access to the Primordial World’s Origin Great Dao powers.
  • Bai Yu was revealed to know only the Jade Plate of Creation’s Dao-comprehension function and therefore had never tried to seize it, despite its recording ability being an ideal match for him.
  • Hongjun sensed complete Great Dao power near Bai Yu and Shen Ni, and the Jade Plate of Creation’s light vanished as his own Origin Great Dao fell silent under its suppression.
  • Hongjun realized he had comprehended only about thirty-nine percent of his Origin Great Dao and wondered whether an Innate Being had already attained the Dao.

Ch. 354The God-Slaying Spear! Heavenly Dao Merit!

Bai Yu defeated Shen Ni by fully unleashing the Mysterious Bright Treasure Bead, then claimed Shen Ni’s spear and named it the God-Slaying Spear. Heavenly Dao merit gathered above him in an astonishing amount, reaching thirty million mu.

  • Hongjun sensed the Great Dao presence from Bai Yu’s battle and, after realizing an innate divine demon had attained the Dao, resumed secluded cultivation despite his shock.
  • Bai Yu overwhelmed Shen Ni, whose incomplete control of his black spear left him unable to match the Mysterious Bright Treasure Bead’s full power.
  • Shen Ni fell, and Bai Yu retrieved the surviving black spear and named it the God-Slaying Spear.
  • Thirty million mu of heavenly Dao merit gathered above Bai Yu, apparently in recognition of Shen Ni’s death and his position as emperor of the Ferocious Beast Clan.

Ch. 355The Necessity of Purging Ferocious Beasts!

Bai Yu considered Heavenly Dao Merit far less useful than Great Dao Merit, though he stored the Golden Merit Cloud for refining Merit Treasures. The chapter explained that Ferocious Beasts drained the Primordial World's World Origin through their destruction, making their purge essential to the world's development and the source of Heavenly Dao Merit rewards.

  • Bai Yu put away the Golden Merit Cloud after deciding Heavenly Dao Merit was better suited to forging Merit Treasures than benefiting himself.
  • The damaged earth veins around Bai Yu repaired themselves, while the surrounding environment still needed time to recover.
  • The chapter explained that earth-vein repairs consumed World Origin, which the Primordial World also needed to maintain its basic operation and nurture life.
  • Ferocious Beasts across the continent and Four Seas repeatedly damaged the Primordial World, consuming its foundations and hindering its development.
  • The Heavenly Dao rewarded those who purged Ferocious Beasts with merit, which beings of the Primordial World could use for many purposes, including directly raising their cultivation.

Ch. 356Whose Chat Group Went This Long Without Any New Members?!

Bai Yu continued traveling across the Eastern Continent toward the Eastern Sea, dismissing Heavenly Dao Merit and casually collecting resources along the way. After several more kalpas, he reached the Eastern Sea’s shores and realized the Chat Group still had not recruited anyone new, leaving him worried for Shi Yaoyao.

  • Bai Yu regarded Heavenly Dao Merit as a trap that surrendered a cultivator’s gains to the Primordial Heavenly Dao, unlike the beings who saw it as a path to power.
  • Bai Yu traveled toward the Eastern Sea, purging Ferocious Beasts he encountered without seeking them out.
  • Bai Yu collected Innate Spiritual Roots and treasures along the way, planting the roots on Penglai Immortal Island and selling the treasures through the Limitless Pavilion.
  • Bai Yu acquired more than a thousand high-grade Innate Spiritual Roots during his travels, though he found no Supreme Grade ones.
  • After several more kalpas, Bai Yu neared the Eastern Sea and noticed the Chat Group had recruited no new members, prompting him to worry about Shi Yaoyao.

Ch. 357What Is Transcendence?

Shi Yaoyao and the other members wondered why the Chat Group had stopped accepting newcomers, while Myriad Worlds City had become their main source of opportunities. The chapter examined the uncertain meaning of transcendence and ended by questioning why Pangu created the Primordial World and died doing so.

  • Shi Yaoyao and the other group members noted that no new members had joined the Chat Group for years, and that Myriad Worlds City had become more useful to them.
  • Yang Jian and Chonglou recalled that the Chat Group had once served mainly as a way to communicate until the Immortal Venerable joined and Myriad Worlds City became its subordinate.
  • The Chat Group relied on Myriad Worlds City to distribute tokens and reach new worlds, while Myriad Worlds City’s open approach brought both customers and frequent invasions.
  • The narration explained that Great Dao Realm experts were rare and that beings across different world levels held different ideas about transcendence.
  • The chapter contrasted Great Dao attainment with true transcendence, then asked why Pangu had created the Primordial World and fallen despite surpassing its Heavenly Dao.

Ch. 358World Prison

The chapter explained why Great Thousand Worlds restricted Thirtieth Order beings: they risked abandoning the world that nurtured them and revealing its coordinates to other supreme experts. It left Bai Yu and Hongjun as examples of exceptionally rare beings whose opportunities might let them contain multiple Origin Great Daos.

  • The chapter established that Hongjun was a genuine Thirtieth Order expert who controlled a complete Great Dao, while the status of the Primordial World's Heavenly Dao Saints remained uncertain.
  • The chapter explained that Primordial Heavenly Dao restricted free Thirtieth Order attainments because such beings could leave the world, unlike bound Heavenly Dao Saints.
  • The chapter explained that a Thirtieth Order being's Origin Great Dao retained the imprint of its world, allowing other Thirtieth Order beings to discover that world's coordinates if they fought.
  • The chapter stated that restrictions on Thirtieth Order beings were common among Great Thousand Worlds, helping explain why Myriad Worlds City had never encountered an unfamiliar Great Dao power.
  • The chapter noted that most Thirtieth Order beings controlled one Origin Great Dao, while Bai Yu and possibly Hongjun had opportunities that could let them contain many Great Daos.

Ch. 359An Abnormal Heavenly Dao

Bai Yu detected a nearby supreme Xiantian Great Formation while nearing the Eastern Sea and reflected on the Primordial Heavenly Dao’s protection of Innate Divine Beings. He remained baffled that the Heavenly Dao had never reacted to his powers or confronted him, despite his obvious strength and abnormality.

  • The Mysterious Bright Treasure Bead detected a top-tier supreme Xiantian Great Formation southeast of Bai Yu, prompting him to consider investigating it.
  • Bai Yu reasoned that the Heavenly Dao protected Innate Divine Beings with supreme Xiantian Great Formations and concealed their heavenly secrets.
  • Bai Yu avoided places protected by the Heavenly Dao because he did not want to confront it before necessary.
  • Bai Yu recalled that the Heavenly Dao had ignored his use of the Space Great Dao and the Mysterious Bright Treasure Bead, even after he killed Shen Ni and received Heavenly Dao Merit.
  • Bai Yu compared himself with Hongjun, the Heavenly Dao’s chosen representative, and wondered why the Heavenly Dao still allowed him to act freely.

Ch. 360The Enlightenment Tea Tree! A Supreme Grade Innate Spiritual Root!

Bai Yu discovered and broke a Supreme Grade Xiantian Great Formation, revealing a mountain centered around the Supreme Grade Innate Spiritual Root known as the Enlightenment Tea Tree. He tested one of its leaves and measured its enlightenment-enhancing effects, which proved useful but weaker than his system’s assistance.

  • Bai Yu used the Mysterious Bright Treasure Bead to destroy the Supreme Grade Xiantian Great Formation.
  • Bai Yu found a divine mountain rich in Innate Spiritual Energy, spiritual veins, and Innate Spiritual Roots.
  • Bai Yu discovered that the Supreme Grade Enlightenment Tea Tree absorbed the mountain’s spiritual resources and suppressed the other roots.
  • Bai Yu plucked and consumed an Enlightenment Tea Leaf, then sat beneath the tree to study the Origin Great Dao.
  • After a hundred years, Bai Yu observed that the leaf’s effects had faded completely and assessed its limits.

Ch. 361Primordial Spirit and Blood Essence! Pure Qi and Turbid Qi!

Bai Yu compared the Enlightenment Tea Tree with the Huangzhong Plum and explained why the Ancestor Witches’ primordial spirits were weakened by Pangu’s Turbid Qi. He concluded that Pangu’s Blood Essence and primordial spirit might each have produced a miniature Pangu if they had not been divided.

  • Bai Yu assessed the Enlightenment Tea Leaves’ fading effects and their limit at roughly seventy percent comprehension of the Origin Great Dao.
  • Bai Yu explained that the Huangzhong Plum could help beings with poor foundations become Grand Unity Golden Immortals, while the Enlightenment Tea Tree was more valuable for comprehending the Dao.
  • Bai Yu described how Pangu Blood Essence fused with Turbid Qi, weakening the Ancestor Witches’ primordial spirits and leaving them focused on body cultivation.
  • Bai Yu explained that Pangu’s three streams of Pure Qi became the Three Pure Ones, while his twelve streams of Turbid Qi fused with his Blood Essence to form the Ancestor Witches.
  • Bai Yu reflected that Pangu’s Blood Essence and primordial spirit might each have nurtured a miniature Pangu if they had not been divided.

Ch. 362Late-Daluo Golden Immortal! Bearing four Great Daos!

Bai Yu planted the Enlightenment Tea Tree on Penglai Immortal Island, then resumed cultivation and reached the Twenty-eighth Order Late-Daluo Golden Immortal realm while bearing four Great Daos. Meanwhile, the Primordial Lord of Heaven entered the mysterious realm and prepared to return to the Lotus Lantern World.

  • Bai Yu collected the Enlightenment Tea Tree and undamaged innate spiritual roots from the divine mountain, leaving damaged roots behind to recover.
  • Bai Yu planted the Enlightenment Tea Tree outside his cave abode on Penglai Immortal Island and brewed tea with three leaves.
  • Bai Yu resumed secluded cultivation and, over a hundred Yuanhui, raised his Space Great Dao comprehension to seventy percent and reached the Twenty-eighth Order Late-Daluo Golden Immortal realm.
  • Bai Yu comprehended four Great Daos—Time, space, Karma, and Destiny—and chose the Slaughter Great Dao as his next goal.
  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven perceived the mysterious realm, entered it, and became a Seventeenth Order Mysterious Immortal.
  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven met with the Exposition Sect's disciples and grand-disciples before preparing to return to the Lotus Lantern World.

Ch. 363What? I was cheating? Then never mind!

After reaching the seventeenth order, the Primordial Lord of Heaven weighed his strength against Hongjun’s command of the Lotus Lantern World and remained wary of confronting him. At Jade Void Palace, he prepared to leave without the Exposition Sect disciples, including Yang Jian, because the journey’s dangers were unknown.

  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven recalled stealing much of the Lotus Lantern World’s origin and delayed returning to face Hongjun, even after reaching the sixteenth order.
  • He switched to the Great Thousand Primordial World’s cultivation system, comprehended the mysterious realm, and became a seventeenth-order Mysterious Immortal.
  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven judged that Hongjun’s control of the Lotus Lantern World’s Heavenly Dao made him more powerful than before, and that fighting him could be costly even for a seventeenth-order cultivator.
  • At Jade Void Palace on Kunlun Mountain, the Primordial Lord of Heaven told the gathered Exposition Sect disciples he would not take them on the dangerous journey.
  • Yang Jian, the Exposition Sect’s acting sect leader, was among those the Primordial Lord of Heaven left behind.

Ch. 364Pangu Banner! The Exposition Sect's Transformation!

Primordial Lord of Heaven decided to return to the Lotus Lantern World alone to face Teacher Hongjun, while Yang Jian stayed behind. To address the Exposition Sect’s growing costs and need for more world managers, he restructured it into an immortal cultivation sect with a hierarchy and contribution-point system.

  • Primordial Lord of Heaven judged that Yang Jian’s Sixteenth Order strength could not defeat Teacher Hongjun, though Yang Jian could overpower the other Saints, and chose not to bring him.
  • Primordial Lord of Heaven recognized that the Exposition Sect’s expanding generations of disciples were straining its resources even as it needed enough followers to control worlds.
  • Primordial Lord of Heaven made the second- and third-generation disciples the sect’s upper ranks and fully funded their cultivation as its high-end combat force.
  • Primordial Lord of Heaven designated the fourth- and fifth-generation disciples as mid-level managers who needed contribution points to obtain resources.
  • Primordial Lord of Heaven established a top-down points system for later generations and transformed the Exposition Sect from a religious order into an immortal cultivation sect.

Ch. 365Primordial Lord of Heaven: My Foolish Little Brother!

Yang Jian wanted to return to the Lotus Lantern World to test himself against the Heavenly Dao Saints, but Primordial Lord of Heaven left him behind. Reflecting on the Three Pure Ones’ estrangement, Primordial Lord of Heaven reconsidered how their conflict had benefited Hongjun and the other Saints.

  • Yang Jian hoped to return to the Lotus Lantern World with Primordial Lord of Heaven and challenge the Heavenly Dao Saints, but his Grandmaster refused to take him.
  • Primordial Lord of Heaven had forgiven Sect Master Tongtian, though Tongtian still believed his elder brother was to blame for their conflict.
  • Primordial Lord of Heaven suspected Dao Ancestor Hongjun had given Tongtian the Immortal Slaying Sword Formation to deepen divisions among the Three Pure Ones.
  • Primordial Lord of Heaven reasoned that a united Three Pure Ones could have constrained Hongjun and the other Heavenly Dao Saints, so their estrangement served the interests of those in power.
  • Primordial Lord of Heaven recalled that he had joined the Two Sages of the West against Tongtian while Taiqing Laozi had taken sides, leaving the Heaven and Earth Mighty Ones of the Lotus Lantern World to witness the spectacle.

Ch. 366The Sages flew into a rage, briefly

The Primordial Lord of Heaven returned to the Lotus Lantern World after stealing nearly seventy percent of its world origin, intending to help Eldest Brother and Third Brother and settle accounts with Exposition Sect traitors. The five Sages spent three hundred years stabilizing the damaged world, while Hongjun remained unaware that the Primordial Lord of Heaven had come back.

  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven reflected on the Three Pure Ones’ split and vowed to punish those who had betrayed the Exposition Sect.
  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven left Cangwu World and traveled through Myriad Worlds City to the Lotus Lantern World.
  • The five Sages questioned Hongjun about the Heavenly Dao’s silence after the Primordial Lord of Heaven stole nearly seventy percent of the world origin, then followed Hongjun’s orders to stabilize the world.
  • After three hundred years, the five Sages calmed the world’s turbulent order, though the damage would take a long time to heal.
  • Hongjun did not realize that the Primordial Lord of Heaven had returned to the Lotus Lantern World.

Ch. 367Hongjun: Traitor! You Traitor!

Hongjun tried to refine the wounded Heavenly Dao so he could control it and the world, but Primordial Lord of Heaven stole nearly seventy percent of the World Origin. As the world’s order began to destabilize, Hongjun could no longer endure his disciple’s theft and prepared to deal with him.

  • Hongjun returned to the Purple Cloud Palace and began refining the wounded Heavenly Dao after using the Origin Law of Destiny to break free from its control.
  • Hongjun noticed Primordial Lord of Heaven stealing World Origin but initially let him continue so he could focus on refining the Heavenly Dao.
  • Primordial Lord of Heaven stole increasingly large amounts of World Origin, draining the reserves Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao needed to evolve a Nascent Great Dao and nurture a Seed of Great Dao.
  • After nearly seventy percent of the World Origin was lost, stars went dark and fell as the world’s order began to destabilize.
  • Hongjun could no longer tolerate Primordial Lord of Heaven’s theft and recognized that his disciple had destroyed his plans for advancing the world.

Ch. 368Hongjun Had Never Felt So Lost

The Primordial Lord of Heaven escaped with seventy percent of the World Origin despite Hongjun and the five Sages trying to stop him. Hongjun later refined the Heavenly Dao but remained trapped at the Lotus Lantern World’s peak, until the Primordial Lord of Heaven returned.

  • Hongjun and the five Sages attacked the Primordial Lord of Heaven, but he escaped with seventy percent of the World Origin.
  • Three hundred years later, Hongjun returned to the Purple Firmament Palace and sealed it to continue refining the Heavenly Dao.
  • Hongjun completely refined the Heavenly Dao and became the Lotus Lantern World’s sole supreme ruler.
  • Hongjun realized the stolen World Origin left too little to develop the Nascent Great Dao, and he felt empty and unable to advance.
  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven returned to the Lotus Lantern World.

Ch. 369A Taiji Diagram That Shattered at a Touch?

The Primordial Lord of Heaven returned to the Lotus Lantern World, and his Pangu Banner overwhelmed the other Sages. Hongjun revealed that his control of the Heavenly Dao let him command the Taiji Diagram, then launched it against the banner.

  • The Primordial Lord of Heaven's Pangu Banner appeared and suppressed everyone except the five Sages and Dao Ancestor Hongjun.
  • Taiqing Laozi sent the Taiji Diagram against the Pangu Banner, but its golden bridge shattered on impact.
  • Hongjun realized Yuanshi had likely attained enlightenment through the Law Enlightenment Path and prepared to confront him.
  • Hongjun used his Heavenly Dao authority to summon Laozi's Taiji Diagram into his hands.
  • Hongjun transformed the Taiji Diagram into a golden bridge and sent it crashing into the Pangu Banner, while stabilizing the Heavenly Dao as the collision threw the world's laws into chaos.

Ch. 370Taiji Diagram vs. Pangu Banner! Both Hongjun and Yuanshi Were Stunned!

Hongjun used the Heavenly Dao to wield the Taiji Diagram at full power, matching Yuanshi’s Pangu Banner and astonishing the saints. Hongjun trapped Yuanshi with the Lotus Lantern World’s laws, but Yuanshi could still escape through the Great Dao power in his Myriad Worlds Token.

  • Hongjun’s Taiji Diagram held firm against Yuanshi’s Pangu Banner, unlike when Laozi had wielded it.
  • Laozi, Hongjun, and Yuanshi were stunned by the Taiji Diagram’s full strength, while Yuanshi mistakenly believed Hongjun had mastered it himself.
  • Hongjun used his control of the Heavenly Dao to activate the Taiji Diagram and secretly seize its power without removing Laozi’s refinement imprint.
  • Hongjun sealed the Lotus Lantern World with its laws to trap Yuanshi and reclaim the World Origin.
  • Yuanshi recognized that law power could not suppress his Myriad Worlds Token, which contained Great Dao power and could still connect him to Myriad Worlds City.

Ch. 371Method of Slaying Three Corpses to Attain Dao

Hongjun explained that Yuanshi had attained the Law Enlightenment Path after Bai Yu's Law Dao Body helped merge his Three Corpses, exposing how Hongjun had withheld the complete method from the Six Sages. Hongjun remained confident that his control of the Heavenly Dao would prevent Yuanshi from escaping.

  • Hongjun recognized that Yuanshi had attained the Law Enlightenment Path and could wield the full power of the Pangu Banner, but trusted the Heavenly Dao's power to contain him.
  • Hongjun explained that he had attained enlightenment through both the Method of Slaying Three Corpses and the Law Enlightenment Path, while his Three Corpses shared his cultivation and could aid his cultivation and combat.
  • Hongjun revealed that the Six Sages had severed their Three Corpses but could not merge them, leaving them incomplete and unable to attain the Law Enlightenment Path despite their merit-based sainthood.
  • Primordial Lord of Heaven discovered in Myriad Worlds City that his severed Three Corpses prevented him from attaining the Law Enlightenment Path, then asked Yang Jian to seek help through the Myriad Worlds Chat Group.
  • Bai Yu's Law Dao Body solved the problem, merged Primordial Lord of Heaven's Three Corpses, and enabled him to attain the Law Enlightenment Path.

Ch. 372Why Are All Three Corpses So Different?!

Primordial Lord of Heaven and Hongjun sent their three corpses into battle, revealing that Yuanshi’s corpses had already reached the Saint realm and were Seventeenth Order. The six corpses fought to a standstill despite Hongjun’s corps being empowered by the Heavenly Dao, leaving the five other Saints astonished by how different their own three corpses were.

  • Primordial Lord of Heaven and Hongjun deployed their three corpses as the Taiji Diagram and Pangu Banner clashed.
  • Hongjun realized Yuanshi’s three corpses had reached the Saint realm, though he did not know they were Seventeenth Order.
  • Hongjun’s three corpses and Yuanshi’s three corpses fought one another, each wielding Innate Spiritual Treasures.
  • Hongjun watched his Heavenly Dao-empowered corpses fall into a disadvantage, while Primordial Lord of Heaven wondered why the Heavenly Dao had not reacted to his theft of seventy percent of the World Origin.
  • The Two Sages of the West, Laozi, and Sect Master Tongtian watched the battle in disbelief and wondered why their own three corpses were so much weaker.

Ch. 373The Purple Qi River

Yuanshi’s Three Corpses defeated Hongjun’s, forcing Hongjun to draw on the Heavenly Dao and confront his former disciple personally. Hongjun attacked with the Purple Qi River, while Yuanshi countered with the Pangu Banner, and their clash began.

  • Yuanshi’s Three Corpses defeated Hongjun’s, shocking Hongjun and the other Five Saints.
  • The Five Saints realized Yuanshi had gained a tremendous opportunity, while Hongjun recognized he had to intervene personally.
  • Yuanshi appeared with the Pangu Banner as Hongjun emerged from the Purple Firmament Palace, empowered by the Heavenly Dao.
  • Hongjun crossed the Chaos Void and confronted Yuanshi, and Yuanshi insisted they settle the matter through battle.
  • Hongjun sent the Purple Qi River surging toward Yuanshi, and Yuanshi answered by unleashing the Pangu Banner’s power.

Ch. 374Yuanshi vs. Hongjun

Yuanshi and Hongjun fought to a stalemate as the Purple Qi River battered the Lotus Lantern World and Yuanshi failed to break through the Heavenly Dao Dharma Wheel. After more than a century, Yuanshi proposed ending the conflict, but Hongjun claimed he had trapped him.

  • Hongjun's Purple Qi River overwhelmed Yuanshi's Pangu Banner, and Yuanshi's Three Corpses sacrificed their treasures to help it withstand the assault.
  • Yuanshi entered the Purple Qi River and tried to attack Hongjun directly, but the Heavenly Dao Dharma Wheel kept him at a distance.
  • Yuanshi and Hongjun remained locked in a stalemate for over a hundred years while the Purple Qi River enveloped the Lotus Lantern World.
  • Yuanshi concluded that the prolonged fight was pointless and asked Hongjun to end it.
  • Hongjun said Yuanshi was trapped and warned that disregarding the world's destruction would leave him with only one outcome.

Ch. 375Yuanshi: I left, I came back, I left again

Yuanshi repeatedly left the Lotus Lantern World and returned to taunt Hongjun, proving he could come and go despite the Heavenly Dao’s seal. Hongjun abandoned his plan to subdue Yuanshi and brought him and the other Sages to the Purple Firmament Palace to discuss his return.

  • Yuanshi vanished from the sealed world, reappeared before Hongjun to announce he was back, and vanished again to Myriad Worlds City.
  • Yuanshi returned once more, and Hongjun realized he could not control him and gave up trying to bring him to heel.
  • Hongjun dissolved the Purple Qi River, withdrew the Heavenly Dao Dharma Wheel and Jade Plate of Creation, and took Yuanshi to the Purple Firmament Palace.
  • Hongjun summoned Taiqing Laozi, Tongtian, Nuwa, Zhunti, and Jieyin, then asked Yuanshi what he intended to do.
  • Yuanshi told Hongjun and the others that he had returned to rejoin the world, while Nuwa reflected on her isolation and her share of the Human Race’s fortune.
