Chapter Summaries

Danzo escaped from Konoha’s prison with Zetsu’s help, and Shamu sent a Shadow Clone to pursue him. Zetsu killed the three Hyuga trackers before Obito arrived and took Danzo away, while Sai watched from the sky.

• Hayato told Shamu that Danzo had escaped prison, and Shamu summoned a Shadow Clone to join the pursuit.
• Danzo fled through the forest with Zetsu as three Hyuga clansmen tracked them, while Sai followed overhead on a constructed bird.
• Zetsu ambushed the Hyuga pursuers, drained Kaizaki and Daisuke with spores, and killed all three clansmen with Wood Release.
• Obito appeared and knocked Danzo unconscious with a mental attack, then questioned Zetsu about bringing him to Konoha without permission.
• Obito noticed Sai watching from above but spared him, then vanished with Zetsu and Danzo.

Shamu and his allies kidnapped Anko from her home and escaped Konoha by exploiting the Hyuga patrol routes and staging a Water Release attack at the gate. They regrouped outside the village and hurried toward Orochimaru, while Konoha’s defenders remained unaware that Anko was missing.

• Shamu ordered Keimei to obtain Konoha ninja residence records and the Hyuga patrol routes, then used them to locate Anko’s home.
• Shamu and Keimei subdued Anko with a genjutsu, and Yakushi Kabuto carried her away in a sack.
• Shamu used a Shadow Clone to unleash a huge Water Release attack at Konoha’s gate, drawing Kakashi and the Anbu away from the escape route.
• Kabuto and Keimei followed the mapped route out of Konoha with Anko, while Konoha’s search found no clues to the intruder’s purpose.

Shamu and the others trapped Urashiki inside a barrier that sealed space-time and launched a coordinated ambush, but Urashiki easily repelled most of their attacks. Minato joined the fight in Kurama Mode, and the battle continued as Urashiki countered his Rasengan with a barrage of red spheres.

• Naruto’s fake body tricked Urashiki into taking the fish basket, and Shamu’s barrier sealed the surrounding space as Itachi and the others attacked.
• Itachi’s Tsukuyomi failed to harm Urashiki, and Urashiki dodged Amaterasu before the Kagura Bell prevented him from opening Yomotsu Hirasaka.
• Shamu, Itachi, Future Sasuke, Orochimaru, and Tsunade attacked Urashiki, but he shattered Shamu’s Susanoo weapon and badly injured Tsunade.
• Orochimaru’s poisonous serpent covered the ground with venom before Urashiki struck it apart, mixing its blood with the venom.

Shamu traveled to the Warring States Era to collect remains from Madara's and Tobirama's deceased younger brothers so Madara could revive them. After returning to Konoha with the needed material, Shamu left their revival to Madara, and Tobirama asked him to save Itama and Kawarama.

• Shamu told Hashirama, Tobirama, and Madara that he would travel to the past to collect remains from their younger brothers' graves.
• Shamu used Plow to travel to the Warring States Era and collected remains from Madara's three younger brothers' graves.
• Shamu witnessed Uchiha clansmen torture Senju Itama to death, collected blood from his corpse, and later took part of Senju Kawarama's corpse from his grave.
• Shamu returned to modern-day Konoha and placed the collected material before Madara, Hashirama, and Tobirama.

Meanwhile, Amado and Izumishiki sent a signal into space before escaping through a portal, leaving behind an explosion.

• Shamu and his companions surveyed the Gao Fei Mountains and discussed how the former Land of Rain’s terrain trapped water and cold air.
• Kisame reported that the inland lake was more than three thousand meters deep and showed Shamu a map of its underground currents.
• Gaara presented a route toward Hidden Sand Village, and Shamu chose a mountain pass for a dam and a breakthrough to redirect water.
• Gaara left to notify Deidara’s forces, while Naruto and Sasuke eagerly prepared to help clear the mountains.

• Shamu returned to the mine’s surroundings, used the Transparency Technique, and slipped past the detection barrier without being noticed.
• Shamu evaded Shi and entered the mine by hiding beside a transport vehicle.
• Shamu explored the mine and saw workers extracting Seven-Colored Ore from pillars with machines and mining picks.

After the Hidden Mist Village attacked the Military Police Force, Shamu explained the Hyuga Branch Family’s Byakugan flaw and suspected Ao was involved. He predicted the Hyuga would seek Uchiha help, but said the Uchiha would not get involved as their manpower shortage became clear.

• The Third Hokage questioned Danzō about Konoha’s security problems and rejected his request to place Root in the Military Police Force.

Obito absorbed the Box of Paradise’s corrupted energy, weakening Satori until it released Muku’s body and vanished. Ryuzetsu used Dragon Life Reincarnation to restore Muku’s soul and revive him, sacrificing her own life; Muku awoke and wept over her.

• Obito directed the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path to absorb the Box of Paradise’s energy, weakening Satori as Black Zetsu watched in horror.
• Satori released Muku from his disintegrating body, then vanished into ash while Ryuzetsu mourned Muku’s corpse.
• The Demonic Statue of the Outer Path consumed the remaining black energy, freeing countless souls, and Muku’s soul apologized to Ryuzetsu before scattering red fireballs across the sky.
• Ryuzetsu used Dragon Life Reincarnation on Muku, restoring his soul and heartbeat at the cost of her own life.

Naruto and Sasuke attacked Kazahana Dōtō’s forces, with Sasuke’s Kirin devastating the soldiers and his rapid assault killing the three Snow Ninja. Naruto faced Kazahana Dōtō as Sasuke finished the fight on the mountainside.

Shamu reunited with Naruto and took him into his inner world to fulfill his promise early. There, he called for Minato Namikaze and threatened to remove the seal when Minato did not appear.

• Jiraiya struggled with Naruto's dislike of him, then encountered Konan, who had arrived as Amegakure's envoy to congratulate Shamu on becoming clan head.

• Shamu visited Orochimaru, who had awakened in a childlike body and said he would soon be able to use Urashiki's Rinnegan.
• Shamu told Tsunade and Dan Katō that he would reanimate Tobirama for the Six Kage Summit and wake Hashirama to greet him.
• Orochimaru performed the Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu with captured White Zetsu, bringing Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju back to life.

Shamu, Minato, and Flying Waterfall confronted the Raikage to prevent Kumogakure from going to war with the Hidden Mist Village. After demonstrating that Minato could teleport their group away and back, Shamu secured the Raikage’s agreement to settle the dispute through fights at the training grounds and avoid war for one year.

• Shamu told the Raikage that Konoha would support the Hidden Mist Village and proposed delaying war for a year because of Obito.
• Minato used the Flying Thunder God Technique to teleport Shamu’s group away and back, convincing the Raikage that they could leave Kumogakure at will.
• The Raikage challenged Flying Waterfall over the destruction of Kumogakure’s Seven-Colored Vein, but Dodai stopped him and called forward Killer B and Yugito.

After Tobirama insulted the Uchiha and discovered Sarutobi Hiruzen had destroyed the Senju Clan, Shamu overwhelmed him and Hashirama with his Chakra while condemning Tobirama’s choice of Hokage.

• Tobirama recognized Orochimaru, who explained that he was now the Fifth Hokage and described his biological research.
• Tsunade and Minato told Hashirama that Konoha had become powerful, while Shamu was identified as the Uchiha Clan head who had ordered the reincarnation.
• Tobirama called the Uchiha evil, and Tsunade revealed that the clan had left Konoha and established its own nation and village.
• Shamu told Tobirama that Sarutobi Hiruzen had persecuted the Senju Clan to extinction and killed Nawaki, leaving Tsunade as the sole survivor.
