Background

Zhou Sheng is a man from Earth who transmigrated into a world of Ghosts, Gods, and cultivation. As a child, he died and returned to life, leaving him with diminished Yang energy and a body vulnerable to unclean influences. Yu Zhensheng spent years secretly treating him with medicine while Zhou Sheng endured rigorous training. 7 20

He began studying Ghost Opera at age five and trained under Yu Zhensheng for sixteen years. At twelve, he and his master settled in Qinggu County, where Zhou Sheng became well liked by the local residents. 16 18

His first major public success came when he completed a dangerous Stage Breaking performance against the Fierce Ghost Shen Jinhua. The encounter also revealed the Turtle Luoshu, the secret artifact tied to both his past and present lives. 5

In Yangcheng, Zhou Sheng discovered that the mysterious elder Lu Bingyuan was the local City God. Lu Bingyuan gave him the fragmentary Immortal's Cloud Mica Pill formula, and Zhou Sheng promised to become capable of assisting him within one year. 7 8 11
