Garen held the sobbing Nami tightly with one arm while raising his Greatsword high with the other.

With one slash, he brought it down.

Though Garen's sword was a Greatsword, its edge was still razor-sharp. Combined with its sheer weight as it came crashing down from above, it was utterly unstoppable.

With a crisp sound like chopping through a melon, Arlong's face froze forever in an expression of fear and panic.

In the end, he could not face death as calmly as he had claimed he could.

Paper tigers accustomed to abusing the weak would never learn such composure.

Nami did not look at Arlong's corpse. She merely collapsed against Garen's chest and wept loudly.

She had finally escaped her nightmare, and she had finally found a place where she could cry freely like an ordinary young girl and vent all her pain.

Garen cooperatively let Nami vent her emotions in his arms, but his attention was drawn to the system's new changes:

The powerful Arlong had provided Garen with an enormous amount of experience, far exceeding the gains from the dozen or so fishman grunts and officers he had killed earlier.

Garen successfully reached level six.

Garen's physical strength underwent another small leap along with his level.

He could roughly tell that if he encountered Commander Hammer again now, he probably would not need to talk him into submission before facing him head-on.

And the new skill he gained upon reaching level six was not a random reward, but Garen's signature skill—

A sword that charged the heavens, light that pierced the sun, might that shook mountains, power that subdued rivers and seas. No matter how happily the Wind Guy dashed about with his flashy combos, Garen could send him straight back to the fountain with a single Greatsword
