Galley-La Company.
In a dim, secluded storage room, two people were whispering in low voices.
One was Kaku, the long-nosed shipwright who had just returned from the docks, while the other was Kalifa, the personal secretary of the Galley-La Company's owner.
Kalifa wore a neat ladies' blouse and a tight skirt. Her dazzling golden hair was tied into a simple bun behind her head, and from time to time, she unconsciously adjusted the delicate gold-rimmed glasses on her nose.
The outfit gave her an air of refined elegance while also making her look especially shrewd and capable, perfectly suiting her identity as her boss's secretary.
But in truth, Kalifa and Kaku were both CP9 agents planted within the Galley-La Company. Their mission was to uncover the whereabouts of the Ancient Weapon Pluton blueprints.
"What could be so urgent that you had to report it now?"
Kalifa adjusted the arm of her glasses by her temple and said to Kaku with some displeasure:
"This doesn't follow the rules of our cover."
CP9 agents had specific rules for exchanging intelligence. The three agents embedded in the Galley-La Company usually met at the tavern run by their companion Blueno.
"It really is an emergency."
Kaku said to Kalifa with a serious expression, "I have important intelligence that needs to be reported to our superior."
"Important intelligence?"
Kalifa frowned slightly and gestured for Kaku to continue with a puzzled look.
"When I was inspecting a ship for someone at the docks."
Kaku continued:
"I found that one ship's mainmast had cracks, its hull and deck had cannon damage, and even its keel—"
"Get to the point!"
Kalifa impatiently interrupted Kaku.
She knew that her long-nosed companion had immersed himself too deeply in his cover. He always liked talking about shipbuilding and ship repair.
