Background / History

Acheron first appears during the Antimatter Legion’s attack on Herta Space Station. Carrying a red paper umbrella and a sheathed sword longer than her height, she meets the frightened Caelus in a corridor. She introduces herself as “Pathstrider, Acheron” and accepts his request to travel together. 1

She immediately demonstrates overwhelming swordsmanship by erasing groups of Voidrangers and defeating a centaur-like Voidranger in seconds. She later helps confront the Doomsday Beast, severing its limbs and wings with sword light without fully drawing her blade. 2 3

Acheron joins the Star Rail Express alongside Caelus. The Express’s course for Penacony also suits her own destination, prompting one of her rare smiles. 5 During the journey, she reveals that silver chains around her forearm seal her power. 6

On the Space Station, she tracks Afleet, the Grand Duke of Fiery Nether, to the Eternal Fire Manor by opening a spatial rift with her sword. She defeats Afleet’s four subordinates, overpowers Afleet, and takes his Penacony invitation and music box. When Afleet forces a final confrontation, she reveals that The Hunt is not her true Path and annihilates his flames with black holes formed from the power of Nihility. 13

In Penacony, Acheron states that she seeks the Clock Keeper’s legacy. She investigates the dreamscape with Welt and Firefly, protects Caelus from schemes surrounding Aventurine, and sees through Aventurine’s plan to reach the hidden Memory Zone Meme through “death” in the dream. 33 35 37 38

Her connection to Penacony is later clarified through Tielnan, a deceased senior of the Star Rail Express and a Pathstrider. Acheron had encountered Tielnan in a world between the Void and carries his dying wish: that Penacony become the place he and Mikhail envisioned. 47 During the crisis of the Great One’s Dream, she helps coordinate the effort to awaken its trapped inhabitants. 47 48
