After Carl, Oliver, and Jack got up and ate breakfast, they did not stay in their room for long. On this rare free day, with no intel from Blanca, everyone had something they wanted to do.
Oliver planned to get himself a new sniper rifle, Jack wanted to finally buy the motorcycle he had been dreaming about, and Carl intended to upgrade his cyberware at Old Vic's. It would have been too troublesome to do all that together, so not long after breakfast, the three went their separate ways.
Though they were supposedly splitting up, Oliver still acted as the driver and dropped Carl and Jack off at their destinations first.
"I'm starting to suspect you only bought a car so you could sit more comfortably whenever I'm driving, Carl."
"Slander. I just wanted to be lazy."
After saying goodbye to Oliver and Jack in the car, Carl went to find Viktor.
Once the cyberware surgery was done, they would still be getting together that night.
Passing through Misty's New Age Shop and greeting Misty along the way, Carl went out the back door, turned left, and arrived at Viktor's clinic in the basement of the alley.
Carl was Viktor's only appointment that day, so Viktor had prepared early.
"Let's do it the way we discussed yesterday, Carl."
Viktor took out the cyberware Carl had ordered yesterday and which had arrived that morning from the special storage unit. Seeing that Carl looked to be in good condition, he waved for him to lie down on the operating table.
"I still need to check whether these implants have any backdoors left in them. Lie down first and get yourself mentally prepared."
"What do I need mental preparation for, Old Vic? It's not my first time."
