53. Tanaka

"Carl, thank you so much for this."

"It was nothing. But she probably won't recover anytime soon. You'd better stay with her."

After handing the still-unconscious Sasha over to the arriving Maine, Carl glanced back at the Biotechnica building, puzzled as to why no one from Biotechnica had come after them.

According to Maine, something had gone wrong with Sasha's mission. She should have been discovered by Biotechnica personnel and forced into a chase that left her with no choice but to jump from up high. But even if Sasha had jumped, shouldn't they have come out of the corporation building to check whether she was dead or alive?

Did they think Sasha was definitely dead? Were Biotechnica's people really that careless?

Carl stared at Biotechnica's tightly shut entrance, where no one had appeared, and pondered.

This Italian company was awfully mysterious.

Because of Sasha, Maine hurriedly thanked Carl before taking the still-injured Sasha away for treatment. According to him, the Tanaka job might have to be delayed for a few days.

Carl did not care about the delay. Militech had given them plenty of time—two whole months. There was no need to fuss over a day or two.

What mattered now was—

Carl looked at the car whose roof he had damaged.

Only now did he realize it was a Villefort Alvarado.

So it was this car.

No wonder.

Carl had personally ridden in one before and knew how soft its seats were. It seemed that luxurious interior had saved Sasha's life.

Carl had originally intended to compensate the owner to some extent for the damaged roof, but now it seemed unnecessary.

There were two reasons.

First, anyone who could afford this car was either a high-ranking Corpo Dog or someone at the top of a gang.
