Chapter 853: 63. Suspect Targets
After studying the Triceratops for a while, Carl reluctantly put away her two knives and continued the investigation.
A Triceratops this massive was hardly something she could casually take with her.
Not to mention the time it would take to clear the underground space after the secondary collapse, the Triceratops's maintenance and subsequent modifications alone were more than Carl's family could afford.
She might have been able to keep it through connections, but going to such lengths seemed unnecessary—besides, cramming a Triceratops onto the top floor would make things incredibly crowded, and transporting it would be another problem.
Passing through the breach the Triceratops had smashed open earlier, Carl headed deeper into the underground complex.
Her encounter with the Triceratops brought good news: traces left behind by the attackers were likely still underground.
While using the EMP Knife to disable the Triceratops earlier, Carl had also used Monomolecular Wire to access its database for a quick look.
The data showed that it had been activated not long ago, at roughly the moment the attack began. Its order had been to "eliminate strangers." In other words, the Triceratops had been released during the attack to fight the intruders.
Its activity logs contained another record of engaging enemies besides its battle with Carl. Since it had still been able to move freely underground afterward, those enemies clearly had not inflicted much damage on it.
That perhaps meant that under the Triceratops's fierce assault, the attackers had likely lacked the time to completely erase their intrusion records or recover their weapons. They might even have suffered casualties, forcing them to use emergency explosives to collapse the underground complex and try to bury the Triceratops for good.
Otherwise, it was difficult to explain why the collapse here had been
