When Carl Taylor received a call from Kurt Hansen, Carl left the registration desk. Almost the instant Carl stepped away, Oliver lifted the interference, and Jack's group finally managed to move the crate aside.
"Found anything?" Oliver's voice came over the channel.
"Sort of. A week ago, Chester Bennett received orders from Hansen to transfer modified Ajax units out of this depot. They were being shipped to Vault 70."
"Vault 70? What kind of place is that?"
As Jack voiced his confusion, Carl Taylor's expression grew increasingly grave after receiving Kurt Hansen's call. There was even a trace of nervousness on Carl's face.
A few seconds later, Carl ended the call, took a deep breath, and turned to the group, especially the four "veteran team members." "Listen up. I just received direct orders from the Colonel. There's an urgent need for supplies, and a batch of weapons needs to be dispatched immediately—the highest-grade equipment.
"You four, go to the isolation level and collect the shipment right now. Take an armored transport. I'll grant you clearance, and the route will be transmitted to the vehicle navigation system once you board. Deliver it directly at maximum speed. The authorization password is 'Caltrops.' Move!"
The three operatives planted by Hanz and the utterly unaware team member immediately acknowledged the order. "Yes, Captain!"
An urgent supply request, directly ordered by Hansen?
Carl's thoughts stirred. In this weapons depot, the only thing that would require Hansen to personally issue an order was probably the weapon whose final destination Carl had been investigating.
Did this count as finding a clue, only for someone to deliver the target right to Carl's doorstep?
With that thought, Carl immediately stepped forward.
