Let's turn back the clock a few hours and look in on The Burrow.

Pop!

With a sharp crack, Lupin appeared in The Burrow's little yard.

"Huh? Harry? Hermione?"

Lupin stared in surprise at the two figures in the Vegetable Garden. The youngsters were helping the Weasley children clear out the gnomes—dim little creatures that liked stealing vegetables.

"Lupin!" Harry cried excitedly.

"Professor Lupin!" the others exclaimed, delighted to see him.

"What are you doing here?"

George swung his arm hard, trying to shake off a gnome that had latched onto his thumb. "We invited Harry and Hermione over. You know, the Quidditch World Cup is about to start, and Dad got tickets."

Before they could say more, Molly Weasley heard the crack of Apparition and hurried outside with a spatula in her hand.

"Remus, you look awful. What happened?"

Lupin looked anxious. "Something's happened. I think we'll need the Order of the Phoenix to work together. You-Know-Who is plotting something!"

"Merlin's beard!" Molly's expression changed. "Arthur's still at the Ministry of Magic. He hasn't finished work yet. I need to warn them right away!"

Lupin nodded. "Sorry for the trouble, but could you stop by the Auror Office and tell Kingsley and the Longbottoms? I'm going to find Professor McGonagall, Moody, and the others."

"Tell everyone to meet at headquarters!"

He glanced at Harry and the others. With another pop, he vanished.

"Children!" Molly clasped her hands nervously and took a deep breath. "George, Fred, you're grown up now. I'm counting on you to look after Harry, Hermione, and your younger siblings."

George nodded. "Don't worry. We'll look after Percy too."

Fred put on a silly face. "That's right. We've raised countless fantastic beasts and kept every one of them healthy and well fed. You've nothing to worry about."
