The Evil Queen's "Green Apple"

"Expecto Patronum!" Harry roared, giving his wand a sharp flick. A silver stag slowly emerged from the silver mist.

Anton had said that the Patronus Charm, a spell that targeted the mind and emotions and protected the mind, could have some effect on Dark Magic Creatures. After practicing at high intensity again and again, Harry's spellcasting had become much smoother. It no longer worked only some of the time.

Harry was undoubtedly a top-tier talent. Not every wizard could learn something just by studying it, then easily use it to fight powerful Death Eaters and the exceptionally powerful wizard Voldemort.

As he watched the stag Patronus charge toward a Dark Magic Creature shaped like a block of cheese, covered in eyes and furry legs, Harry panted and looked at Anton.

Anton merely pressed his lips together and shook his head. "Not enough!"

He pointed at the stag Patronus. "Harry, have you ever wondered why your Patronus can fight for you?"

Harry froze for a moment, then said in astonishment, "Because that's what magic does!"

Perfect. That was exactly how most wizards thought about magic: It was magic, so of course it could do these things on its own.

"That's the right answer, but it doesn't go deep enough." Anton carefully explained it to him. "Remember, magic is the power of the mind. Our emotions, our will, and all the memories of our experiences that exist in our minds—all of them become a force that can move magic."

"Your Patronus attacked that Dark Magic Creature for you because you were thinking about attacking it when you cast the spell."

Harry nodded. "Yeah. You explained how to use the power of the mind in the Great Hall. The more resolute, extreme, and pure your thoughts are, the more powerful they become."
