"You just said these were diary notes?" Anton's eyes lit up as he looked at Fudge. "So there are other parts, too?"
Fudge nodded gently. "Of course. Lily Potter was a powerful witch. This isn't the only one."
Seeing Anton's interest, Fudge thought for a moment, then sat down and began to explain.
"Lily Evans was already a top student when she was at school. You could think of her as, well, Percy Weasley? Hermione Granger? No, that's not enough. She was far more outstanding than your classmates!"
"Throughout her school years, she was undisputedly top of her class. You know, undisputed. That means she left the so-called second-best student far behind."
"While she was at school, Professor Slughorn took an interest in her and selected her for the Slug Club."
"Anyone Professor Slughorn took an interest in was no ordinary person. You-Know-Who was a member of the club back in the day. The other student members went on to hold important positions in the Ministry of Magic, become professors at Magic Schools, join the Death Eaters or the Order of the Phoenix, or become editors-in-chief of the Daily Prophet, among other things."
Fudge gave a wistful look as he spoke of Professor Slughorn, then glanced at Anton. "His Slug Club is something Cabin could learn from."
"Back to Lily Evans. She was later elected Head Girl (ps: technically, she should be called the girls' representative). After graduation, she joined the Order of the Phoenix and was always on the front lines opposing You-Know-Who. She escaped from him three times."
"Because of that Prophecy, they used the Fidelius Charm to protect their family after Harry Potter was born. It was never made clear whether Dumbledore or Lily herself cast it." Fudge shrugged. "I couldn't exactly ask Professor Dumbledore about that."
