Under the bright moon in the night sky.

Azazel, a red-skinned demon-like subordinate of the Black King, suddenly appeared high above, gripping a base clerical worker in his grasp. The man stared in shock, utterly bewildered.

He grinned cruelly, activated his ability, and vanished.

"Oh, no!"

The man, still reeling, screamed as he plummeted dozens of meters to the ground, instantly becoming a corpse.

Thud, thud!

Then came the peculiar sound of air being abruptly squeezed.

Above the CIA base, people began falling sporadically from the sky.

The Red Devil kept using his teleportation ability to lift people high and drop them, slaughtering the base personnel without mercy.

One corpse after another crashed into the courtyard and onto the rooftops, blood splattering everywhere.

On the other side of the room, through the glass window.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh

The mutant Riptide unleashed a tornado, charging toward a massive spherical device.

It was the Cerebro built by Hank, designed to help Professor X locate mutants across the globe.

The base was under a terrifying attack!

Enemies on both sides.

"Ah, what do we do..."

Mystique and the others screamed in fear, backing away.

Even though each of them had superpowers, they were just ordinary youths who had never seen bloodshed.

Panic spread through the room—except for one person.

Ron calmly watched both sides of the room, as if the terrifying wind outside and the horrifying screams didn't exist.

The others, terrified and disoriented, huddled together and retreated to his side.

"Ro... Ron, what should we do?"

Looking at the courtyard littered with bodies, Raven trembled, her face pale.

She was not yet the battle-hardened Mystique who would one day become a unique hero in the eyes of mutants.

"It must be the group Charles warned us about."

Alex, usually bold and reckless, stared nervously at the windows on both sides.

"Get behind me. I can protect you."

Darwin, the only one with a special ability and slightly older, swallowed hard and stepped forward.

Ron glanced at Raven, who was looking to him for help, then shifted his gaze to the system.

As he suspected, many people had bumped into him in the chaos, including the two whose abilities he wanted.

His body began to heat up.

Aside from the warmth, there was no discomfort or pain. His genetic capacity was limitless.

After a few seconds of heat.

Ron looked down at his hands and smirked, sensing the change in his body.

A faint stream of energy continuously flowed into him.

"The survival adaptation ability only manifests in danger, but the Shockwave ability—I can already feel it clearly."

Radiation, electromagnetic waves, thermal energy—all kinds of ambient energy were being absorbed into his body.

But since it was night, he wouldn't gather much energy in one evening. For now, Darwin's ability would be the most useful.

The base's defenses finally reacted. Armed agents rushed in, but the Red Devil, Azazel, kept blinking behind them, slaughtering them with two simple short blades.

Rat-a-tat-tat!

"Stop him!"

At the same time, gunfire and shouts erupted from the front entrance.

The Black King hadn't flanked the base like his two subordinates; instead, he chose to break in through the front door.

An elite special forces squad unloaded their guns into him, but only spent casings hit the ground. All kinetic energy was absorbed.

Crack!

Suddenly, a stray bullet shattered the glass on the Red Devil's side of the room, sending the group into a panic—especially the two women, who screamed.

"Stay here and stop making useless noise!"

Tossing out a casual remark, Ron's agile body shot out like a cheetah. His fingers extended into sharp claws as he vaulted through the window, charging straight at the Red Devil.

"An interesting one has arrived."

In the courtyard, Red Devil tightened his demonic tail around the neck of a nearly suffocating agent, yanking him back and forth like a puppet. He let out a cruel smile.

The next second, his powerful tail flung the man aside. Short blade in hand, he met Ron head-on.

Ron possessed a physique like Sabretooth's, and Red Devil also had a degree of physical enhancement.

The two clashed in a rapid exchange of several rounds.

But Ron wasn't as bulky as Sabretooth; the muscles beneath his clothes were streamlined, unbulky yet explosive, combining the strength of a tiger with the agility of a leopard.

"Felines have always been swift, graceful hunters with lightning reflexes."

Red Devil's short blade whistled through the air as he swung it rapidly, but Ron dodged with ease. To his eyes, the movements were slowed down, and he countered with a claw swipe.

Shiiing!

Stumbling back a few steps, Red Devil touched the five fresh gashes on his face and looked at the young Ron.

"A troublesome little kitten."

Despite the injury, he wasn't panicked—only sneered dismissively.

"I thought I'd seen a demon, but there's no sulfur smell of hell in your blood."

Ron glanced at the blood on his claws and said calmly.

"Just some freakish deformity?"

In the comics, Red Devil was one of the oldest mutants, having lived for millennia. Feared by humans under different names since biblical times, he'd used aliases including Satan himself. He possessed abilities like teleportation, physical enhancement, shape-shifting, immortality, and mind control.

But in the movies, he seemed to be just a mutant from Bear Country with a deformed appearance, his abilities reduced to minor physical enhancement and teleportation.

"I'll show you hell right now!"

Unable to stomach the mockery of his looks, the enraged Red Devil snarled, ready to send this brat straight to hell.

The boss was closing in fast—he had to finish everything before the boss arrived.

Bang!

The next second, using his ability, he instantly appeared behind Ron and swung his blade down. Ron turned with lightning reflexes and raised his arm to block.

"You seem to have forgotten my tail."

Red Devil grinned viciously as his tail coiled around Ron's ankle.

Another bang.

His teleportation activated.

In an instant, Ron and Red Devil were hundreds of meters up in the sky, above thick clouds, under the bright moonlight, both plummeting at breakneck speed.

"Go repent in hell!"

Releasing his tail, Red Devil flashed a cruel grin and immediately returned to the ground. He slowly tilted his head up, staring into the pitch-black night sky, waiting for that scratching little kitten to smash into meat paste from hundreds of meters up.

"Ron, no!"

Mystique and the others cried out, looking up at the sky with worry.

That's how those before had been turned into pulp.

"...Bang!"

A sound all too familiar echoed behind him. Before, it only came when Red Devil activated his teleportation, but this time he hadn't.

Huh? An illusion?

"What are you looking at?"

A cold, magnetic voice suddenly rang out behind him, like a hunter emerging from the shadows. Sharp claws mercilessly tore open his throat!

"How... how did you do that?"

Turning around, clutching his throat as blood gushed like a fountain, Red Devil staggered back, his face a mask of disbelief.

The man he thought was dead had suddenly appeared behind him, using what seemed to be his own ability.

"I figured you look way more suited for hell than I do."

Ron ignored his question.

"I... you..."

His eyes bulged as he felt his life draining away, his legs giving out.

"Goodbye."

"No..."

Uttering one last desperate, garbled syllable, Red Devil collapsed limply to the ground, dead, his eyes wide open in refusal.

The Ability Points, already drained, surged by several thousand again.

In the original storyline, Red Devil didn't die—he defected to Magneto after his fallout with Professor X. But now, the mutant with the best escape ability had met Ron, and his life ended tonight.

"Ron, oh, you're amazing!"

Mystique and Alex's eyes lit up as they exclaimed in surprise.

It felt like a long time, but in less than half a minute, Ron had taken down the devil who'd casually slaughtered so many agents—incredible!

"Did I just see Ron use that devil's ability?"

Hank muttered, stunned.

"Am I seeing things?"

"No, I saw it too."

The group exchanged dazed glances, slow to process.

Bang!

Suddenly, the floor-to-ceiling window on the other side shattered.

The mutant Riptide stepped in, having just used his ability on Black King's orders to completely destroy Cerebro.

Mystique and the other six blocked the window with their figures; he had no idea Red Devil was already lying dead on the ground.

"Riptide..."

But Ron spotted him through the gaps in the crowd.

Mind teleportation—anywhere he'd been or seen, he could freely transport himself.

Thump!

"All taken care of?"

A familiar voice sounded behind him. Riptide thought it was his comrade Red Devil, sneered coldly at the panicked Mystique and the others, and didn't bother turning around, asking if everyone else in the base was dealt with.

But from Mystique's perspective, it was a different story. He looked like a clown, with Ron standing expressionless right behind him.

"No, there's one left."

The icy voice rang out like a death knell from hell.

Crack.

Before Riptide could react, his confident smile froze on his face. His fragile neck bones snapped under immense force, twisting around, and he became a corpse following Red Devil into death.

Ability Points: 42,000

The Ability Points climbed again, reaching an unprecedented number.

"Strong ability, but the body's too fragile."

Ron assessed the corpse on the ground inwardly.

The mutant Riptide could create whirlwinds, tornadoes, even hurricanes—destructive power on par with a small natural disaster—but his body was far too weak.

Still, that was a common flaw among mutants; very few possessed both a powerful ability and a strong physique.

Take Magneto later on—his power could shift the Earth's magnetic field, causing global catastrophe, yet with the right timing, a single plastic bullet could end his life.

"Another one down, Ron. You're like a cold, deadly assassin—amazing!"

Raven's face flushed with excitement as she and the others, still gasping, walked over.

At the same age, Ron felt far more formidable than them. Calmly and quickly taking out two powerful enemies gave them an immense sense of security.

Ron ignored them, turning his gaze toward the door.

"The freaks you're looking for are inside—spare me... ah!"

A heavy thud, and a plea for mercy outside the door cut short.

"What a beautiful night, ladies and gentlemen..."

The door swung open, and Black King Sebastian Shaw stepped into the room with a relaxed stride.

Dressed in a sharp suit, a strange, imposing helmet on his head, he'd just wiped out a fully armed squad of over a hundred agents. Not even a single strand of hair was out of place, despite being hit by an RPG.

His ability let him stay elegant anytime, anywhere.

"Riptide... and Red Devil."

But as he entered the room, ready to deliver a polished speech to recruit and sway hearts, Black King saw Riptide's corpse and Red Devil's body lying conspicuously dead on the lawn outside. His smile vanished.

"Interesting. Looks like someone among you has given me a surprise."

His face, usually calm no matter the situation, gradually turned cold.

Black King lifted his head, his icy gaze sweeping over everyone, making them feel like they'd fallen into a frozen pit. It finally locked onto Ron, standing beside Riptide's body, where surging energy roiled within him.

"Did you kill Red Devil and the others?"
