The greatest opportunity of his life—a path to godhood that would give him the power to protect all his family and fear no enemy in the world—had appeared before him without warning!
Yet no matter how fiercely his emotions churned, Katakuri was a man proud to his core.
He took a deep breath and forced the heat from his eyes.
Thud!

With a heavy boom, Katakuri slammed Mogura against the hard floor, sending cracks spreading in every direction.
He slowly rose. His towering frame cast an oppressive shadow, but his face remained cold, aloof, and composed. His deep voice echoed through the hall.
"Hmph. I don't need any other reason. I'm her older brother. Protecting my own sister is only natural!"
Ronan saw how moved Katakuri was, despite his effort to maintain the image of a perfect older brother. A knowing smile flashed in Ronan's eyes, but he said nothing of it. He merely nodded.
"Good. Hearing you say that puts my mind at ease."
Ronan then turned to Luffy and asked with a smile,
"Luffy, it looks like we'll have two powerful companions aboard for the next leg of our voyage. You're the captain. What do you think?"
Luffy's entire face was buried in a heap of meat, his cheeks puffed out like an enormous hamster's. Hearing Ronan, he struggled to lift his head. In his left hand was a roasted Sea King rib thicker than his thigh; in his right, a huge chunk of honey-glazed ham. His mouth was so full he could barely speak.
"Mmph... mmph! Delicious!"
Luffy chewed indistinctly, a carefree grin spreading across his greasy face. After forcing down a huge mouthful of meat, he waved one oil-smeared hand dismissively.
"Stuff like that... you decide, Ronan!!!"
