Background

Ronan is a transmigrator who retained knowledge of One Piece from his previous life. Upon recognizing Zoro, Luffy, and Nami, he identifies the era as the Straw Hats' earliest days and judges that joining them will give him reliable allies while he develops his system-backed martial arts. 4

Before joining the crew, Ronan kills and defeats members of the Tattered Sails Pirates, including their three-million-Belly captain. He gives the captain's bounty to the devastated residents of Star Cape Town rather than keeping it himself. 2 5
