"Swarm! Crush them!"
Starting from the Mother Nest, more than ten thousand Zerg monsters advanced in groups toward the center of the county town.
Under the Mother Nest's command, Beast General-level Zerg commanders led the Zerg army in encircling, slaughtering, and hunting the monsters throughout the city.
The entire city erupted into chaos. Earth-shaking roars and despairing screams rang out without end.
A group of Ironclad Scorpions darted through the city ruins as if something terrifying were chasing them from behind.
They failed to notice the Two-tailed Tiger Cat in the shadows, baring its bloodthirsty fangs.
The leading Ironclad Scorpion suddenly let out a shrill burst of sound. A black shadow flashed past, and its hard head was smashed apart, spilling a pale, unknown liquid.
A rustling sound came from behind them. A pack of Tiger Mastiffs closed in from all directions, then began a slaughter under the lead of a Bloodthirsty Tank.
Dozens of monsters occupied a somewhat narrow street, peacefully coexisting in a rather harmonious atmosphere.
Packs of Tiger Mastiffs gathered at both ends of the street, while Shadow Cats darted and leaped through the shadows of the ruined buildings on either side.
The hunt had begun!
In the sky, flocks of Gray Cloud Finches whistled past. Like volleys of arrows, they descended from above, seized monsters in their claws, then dropped them from midair and smashed them to death.
Some particularly savage Gray Cloud Finches even tore apart the monsters they had caught while still in the air.
An eagle-type Beast General-level monster whose territory had been invaded flew into a rage. These Gray Cloud Finches actually dared to openly provoke it in its own presence!
The eagle monster spread its wings, which spanned over twenty meters. Its massive body was like a curtain of sky before these finch-like monsters with wingspans of barely over a meter, capable of easily pouncing on and killing them.
Just as it beat its wings and lunged at the Gray Cloud Finches at supersonic speed—
A still larger Golden Vulture descended from the high sky like a divine soldier. The feathers on the upper side of its wings were black with a faint silvery-gray sheen, while those beneath were golden. It immediately battled the eagle monster.
Feathers drifted through the sky, and flesh and blood rained across the ground.
The city fell into unprecedented chaos. Fighting broke out everywhere, from the sky to the ground, until every monster's eyes had turned red with bloodlust.
"Mother Nest, mark the next target's location!"
Several hundred meters in the air, Qin Mu stood atop a Golden Vulture. He wore a black Combat Suit, held a long spear, and had eleven short spears floating behind his back.
"Target marked. The target is a mid-level Beast General Lion Mastiff, guarded by more than one hundred High-level Beast Soldier Lion Mastiffs."
"Good. I'll use them for live combat training, to practice my movement technique and spear technique!"
The strongest monsters in this city were only High-level Beast Generals. Once large numbers of Beast General-level monsters appeared within the Swarm, Qin Mu no longer needed to charge at the front.
With a thought, the Golden Vulture beneath his feet dived down. When they were still over twenty meters above the ground, Qin Mu suddenly jumped off and landed with a thunderous crash.
"Roar—"
The startled Lion Mastiffs instantly flew into a rage. They let out thunderous roars, opened their bloody maws, and lunged to bite him.
Qin Mu showed no fear. Without using Mental Power, he gripped his long spear and charged straight at them.
Power erupted through the spear in his hand. It pierced a Lion Mastiff's eye socket at an extremely tricky angle, and a hidden force exploded within its brain, killing it in a single strike.
The mid-level Beast General Lion Mastiff pounced fiercely. Qin Mu turned his body slightly and slipped past it by the narrowest margin.
Like a slippery fish, Qin Mu weaved back and forth through the Lion Mastiff pack. His spear struck out from time to time, each attack taking the life of another Lion Mastiff.
Every attack from the Lion Mastiffs fell just short, yet they could not injure Qin Mu in the slightest.
Qin Mu even used their massive bodies from time to time to block the attacks of the other Lion Mastiffs!
One Lion Mastiff had its leg bones shattered by a claw from its own leader, only to have its throat sealed by a spear immediately afterward.
Nor was that all. Qin Mu also used the stones and reinforced-concrete ruins on the battlefield, retreating at times and advancing at others, playing the Lion Mastiffs in the palm of his hand.
This was no longer merely a subtle-level movement technique. It had begun to touch upon the shadow of perfect movement.
So-called perfect movement meant being able to control one's surroundings in battle, making use of anything nearby—living beings, stones, buildings, and so on—to perfectly exploit the environment and evade with the utmost precision.
"Crack—"
As he shifted and dodged, Qin Mu stepped onto a piece of building rubble. The weathered ruins suddenly collapsed, disrupting his movements, and the Lion Mastiff leader seized the chance to bite down at him.
I made a mistake.
Qin Mu was slightly startled, but he did not panic.
An invisible force wrapped around his Alloy Combat Boots and forcibly lifted his body. Borrowing that force, he flipped away and evaded the Lion Mastiff leader's attack.
At the critical moment, Qin Mu used Mental Power to avoid the attack.
I'm still not skilled enough!
Qin Mu understood. He had experienced too few real battles, so mistakes were unavoidable.
While Qin Mu was honing his movement technique—
Near the Mother Nest, five Golden Vultures formed a flying formation and soared into the sky. Three of them carried a Worker Bug, a Primary Beast General Tiger Mastiff, and a Two-tailed Tiger Cat in their claws, while the other two Golden Vultures flew escort.
After joining up with a flock of Gray Cloud Finches in the sky, they formed a massive group and flew toward the wilderness.
This was already the third team to depart from the Mother Nest. Compared to the other two teams, it was even larger in number.
They flew eastward, deep into the wilderness, and stopped above an exceptionally dense forest. After circling in midair for a while and confirming there was no danger, they descended.
A Beast General-level Tiger Mastiff and a Two-tailed Tiger Cat landed and stood guard nearby, protecting a Worker Bug as it entered a concealed cave.
The cave's interior was extremely spacious, large enough to easily accommodate even a Level 2 Hive Mother. After entering, the Worker Bug found a suitable location and automatically began incubating into a Mother Nest.
As the Mother Nest began incubating, clumps of Fungal Carpet spread rapidly outward like flowing water. Even after covering the entire cave, they did not stop, but continued expanding outside.
The Golden Vultures and Gray Cloud Finches in the sky did not leave. Relying on the advantage of flight and their sharp eyes, they found monsters hiding throughout the forest.
Once a hidden monster was discovered, it was besieged by the group. Under the lead of the five Golden Vultures, no monster could withstand such an attack.
Monster corpses fell from the sky one after another, smashing down near the cave. The Tiger Mastiff and Two-tailed Tiger Cat dragged them inside and threw them onto the Fungal Carpet, turning them into energy needed by the Swarm.
Three hours later, the Mother Nest's incubation was complete, and more and more Zerg Units were hatched.
A new round of battle and hunting began!
Before this, the other two Mother Nests in the county town had also completed incubation and begun fighting the surrounding monsters.
The Swarm's full-scale expansion had begun!
