Watching the little girl being led away by the Battle Sisters, her face brimming with excitement, Trevor let out a long breath.

The child had a pure soul. Under the protection of those big sisters who wanted to carve "mercy" onto their Chainswords, her future might be filled with blood and fire, but she clearly welcomed it.

"All right, personal business sorted. Time to get to work."

Trevor turned around, golden psychic energy enveloping his body. Like a meteor streaking upward, he hurtled toward the distant battle lines.

As he drew farther from the Hive City, the landscape below changed beyond recognition. The city's central district had been tense, but its streets were still clean and orderly, with magnificent statues and sturdy fortifications in sight. The front now unfolding before Trevor was nothing less than hell on earth.

Artillery had plowed the ground to pieces. The permafrost had been churned up and mixed with blood, corpses, and Nurgle's distinctive putrid slime, turning it into a nauseating black-green mire. Yellow-green poisonous fog filled the air, reducing visibility to almost nothing. Every breath felt like swallowing a mouthful of barbed, corrosive acid.

Bzzzz! Several Chaos fighters, their twisted frames covered in pustules and spikes, burst out of the poisonous fog and screamed toward Trevor, an unmistakable target in the sky.

"Flies."

Trevor did not even bother slowing down. He simply waved a hand. Several beams of golden psychic light swept out like swords. The Chaos fighters had no time even to dodge before they exploded into brilliant fireballs, their wreckage trailing black smoke as it plunged into the mire below.

With the aerial nuisances cleared away, Trevor descended and hovered above a position where fierce fighting was underway.
