Just then, Fluttering Moth suddenly stopped.
The two behind him tensed instantly like cats whose tails had been stepped on, silently releasing their weapon safeties.
"What happened?" Name asked in a low voice.
"Once we enter the hall ahead, I'll have seen the entire layout of the Governor's Mansion." Moth's voice sounded somewhat hoarse over the comm channel.
"But... there are people ahead?" Name immediately understood what he meant.
"Mm..." Moth fell silent for a moment, seemingly carefully discerning the massive mass of energy within his field of vision. "And they're strong. Very strong."
"Can we go around?" Great Horned Beast naturally preferred avoiding a fight if possible. Their mission was reconnaissance, not combat.
"No." The veins around Moth's right eye throbbed violently. "The only route around is too far. If we take it, my eye will hit its ten-minute expiration limit before we make it around."
"Then there's nothing more to say. Let's go in." Great Horned Beast said decisively. "Once we're inside, you'll be able to see the final part of the layout, right?"
"What if we alert them?" Name considered things more thoroughly.
Moth said in a deep voice, "Actually, I've been transmitting the structures I've scouted in real time. The command headquarters outside has already received most of the structural map. They just replied that preparations are complete."
He paused, then continued, "Besides, I can infer the remaining unknown area from my grasp of the other structures. It's most likely an enclosed basement with only one entrance and exit."
"Then why do you insist on going in to take a look?" Great Horned Beast asked in confusion.
"Curiosity." Moth answered frankly. "A hidden basement in a Planetary Governor's mansion where things can enter but never leave—aren't you curious what's hidden inside?"
