When he woke, Yan Hui found he had turned into a cloud.
He felt as if he might scatter and drift away at any moment, yet some force was dragging him upward at a constant speed.
The Silver Plain had become a smooth silver mirror.
On the ground, there was no longer any trace of the Survey Station. Perhaps he was too high up, so high that the Survey Station had become too small. The only thing he could observe was a few scattered, faint glints on the mirror's surface.
Yan Hui thought those might be the light formed when Fallen Stars struck the ground.
Why had he turned into a cloud?
Yan Hui clearly remembered that, before this, he had still been standing outside the safe house of the Polycystic Complex, having opened a slight crack in his helmet.
He had wrapped his mouth and nose in thick cloth beforehand, put on wind goggles to protect his eyes, and held the Wind Mother he could use to call for help. But the sharp sting brought by the extreme low temperature and the numbness that spread through his whole body in an instant still left Yan Hui unable to move for a time.
Then came the voice that called itself Eileen.

He could not remember at all what had happened after that.
If everyone had failed to rescue him in time, he should already be dead.
After so many years of living safely and steadily, one single impulsive adventure had ended up costing him dearly. Yan Hui felt a little regretful. In the future, he would no longer be able to provide Sonic with blood samples, nor would he be able to go elsewhere and broaden his horizons.
