Ch. 242As I Lay Dying

Can Cong recalled its long vigil after the Nine Harmony Pillar’s destruction, its bond with a boy who shared its name, and its search for a Voyager who could preserve those memories. Near death, it entrusted its memories to Lu Yao, then eagerly offered to help after learning he had a Dragon of the Dark Sun.

  • Can Cong explained how the Nine Harmony Pillar’s explosion destroyed the other pillar clusters and erased its Memory Bodies, leaving it to wait alone.
  • A nameless boy who could not return home befriended Can Cong, shared its name, and vowed to build a new Divine Tree so they could both go home.
  • After millennia of stagnation, Can Cong saw the Shang Bronze Divine Tree in the Museum and recognized the boy’s design in it.
  • Can Cong fled dangerous Voyagers and Xuan Bird, found Lu Yao, and asked him to preserve its memories of the boy before its remaining seven days ran out.
  • Lu Yao agreed to keep the memories, then asked how to teach a young dragon; Can Cong learned the dragon was a Dragon of the Dark Sun and excitedly offered to come help.

Ch. 243Dragon Blood Ritual

Lu Yao studied the committee’s exam materials and learned more about the simulator before asking Can Cong how to help Pasha improve its dragon abilities. Can Cong taught him the Dragon Blood Ritual, while Song Shiyi and Mingzai concluded their search for Can Cong and discussed the successful arrest at the Roadside Diner.

  • Lu Yao learned that the committee recruited Gods Tier players and reviewed exam questions explaining the simulator, the Realm Chain, and the committee’s work and punishments.
  • Lu Yao asked Can Cong for advice about Pasha’s weak dragon-language skills, and Can Cong arrived despite having lost half its body while escaping pursuit.
  • Can Cong explained that the Dragon Blood Ritual strengthened dragons by exposing them to dangerous fights, injuries, and near-death experiences alongside quality food and special treasures.
  • Song Shiyi and Mingzai failed to find Can Cong, but Song Shiyi said the Enforcement Bureau had successfully arrested the Roadside Diner suspect.
  • Song Shiyi offered comfort to Mingzai, reflected on her origins and the cost of inheriting the Moon God’s Godhead, and decided they should go home.

Ch. 244The Age of Catastrophe

After the Era Update, Lu Yao learned from Can Cong about Voyagers and Strange Objects, then returned to find Yao Clan World facing harsher disasters and awakened Poison Spot Mosquitoes. He discovered the mosquitoes were already incapacitating Ice Giants in the north.

  • Lu Yao directed the Clockwork Monkeys to repair Yao Clan World while it remained inaccessible during the Era Update.
  • Can Cong explained that Voyagers sought Unclaimed Worlds for Strange Objects, which could become Myths or add special rules to Divine Kingdoms.
  • The Era Update ended, bringing faster growth for plant- and poison-type life, harsher climate and disasters, Calamity Beasts, Poison Spot Mosquitoes, and no more Novice Gods.
  • Lu Yao asked Can Cong whether he could adjust Era Updates, but Can Cong only said he could alter the world rules.
  • Lu Yao found Ice Giants in the northern Dragon Nest weakened by Poison Spot Mosquitoes as Physicians treated them, then inspected the mosquitoes’ abilities.

Ch. 245This is called professionalism

Lu Yao discovered that the Slaughter Locusts were suppressing Poison Spot Mosquitoes, then helped Can Cong reunite with Pasha and arranged strict training for the dragon. After Nivd beat Pasha, the Dragon of the Dark Sun awakened Wisdom and began speaking.

  • Lu Yao found the Slaughter Locusts listed as the Poison Spot Mosquitoes’ natural enemy and saw them hunting the mosquitoes for rewards.
  • Pasha defeated a Level 35 Calamity Beast while Snowman Jimmy cheered him on.
  • Lu Yao made Can Cong his eighth apostle so he could safely meet Pasha, but Pasha refused to leave for Dragon Lodging.
  • Can Cong asked Lu Yao to arrange a strict Dragon Blood Ritual and mentor for Pasha, so Lu Yao assigned Blood Knight Nivd to train him.
  • After Nivd beat Pasha, the dragon awakened Wisdom, pleaded for the beating to stop, and promised to obey; Lu Yao ordered Nivd to hit harder.

Ch. 246Unstoppable

Pasha completed his first shedding and awakening, gaining the melee ability Unstoppable, while Lu Yao observed the Yao Tribe’s progress across its cities. Seeing the dying Yanjui wish to explore the world again, Lu Yao realized the Cloud Temple’s class-changing Wonders might offer him another path.

  • Nivd trained Pasha through repeated brutal sparring while Can Cong explained the Dragon Race’s growth and warned that it was about to die.
  • Can Cong died and left behind a memory, while Pasha began shedding and completed its first awakening.
  • Pasha gained the exclusive ability Unstoppable, then challenged Nivd and was beaten nearly to death again.
  • The Temple Society invented an Antidote for Poison Spot Mosquito toxins and continued carefully developing other Magic Potions.
  • Salt City founded an Engineering College, created the Engineer profession, and established a Court and Police Station.
  • Lu Yao found the elderly Yanjui near death in Sanilo and considered using the Cloud Temple’s class-changing Wonders to help him.

Ch. 247Rule Walker

At the end of his life, Yanjui accepted the Sand-Entering Path and became the Yao clan’s first Sand Walker, hoping to return to his homeland. His Ascension carried him to the Ghost Realm instead, where he chose to reveal himself and seek a foothold.

  • At 142, Yanjui reached the end of his life, and Isabelle offered him a new body through either the Cloud-Chasing Platform or the Sand-Entering Path.
  • Yanjui chose the Sand-Entering Path, became a Sand Walker, and learned he could turn into sand and move through the desert.
  • The Guest-receiving Monk taught Yanjui how to Ascend across worlds, and Yanjui immediately tried to return to the Yao Clan World.
  • Yanjui succeeded in Ascending but arrived in the Ghost Realm, where he spent two years learning about the Funeral Tribe, Black Gravestones, and Ghouls.
  • Yanjui emerged before a Black Gravestone and introduced himself to the Ghouls and its ghostly guardian, asking them to enlighten him.

Ch. 248Don't Ascend! Don't Ascend!

After Yanjui became a Sand Walker, he ascended before Lu Yao could use him to test the profession, prompting Lu Yao to make Cloud Temple an experimental zone for world rules and species. Lu Yao stabilized a localized lightning rule, bred resilient cockroaches into Shell Cockroaches, and ended with a plan to bring water-type disaster beasts to the barren world.

  • Lu Yao discovered that Yanjui had ascended, regretted losing his test subject, and decided to warn future profession-changers not to ascend.
  • Lu Yao designated Cloud Temple as an experimental zone and spent repeated attempts developing a stable lightning rule based on the interactions of Cloud and Sand.
  • Lu Yao introduced Sand Cockroaches to Cloud Temple, where they survived through generations of adaptation and gained the ability to eat gravel.
  • Lu Yao combined a Sand Cockroach with Wild Horn to create Shell Cockroaches, whose linked shells helped them endure the desert climate.
  • The elves of the south offered Lu Yao a Calamity Vine, inspiring him to bring water-type disaster beasts from the Yao Clan World to Cloud Temple.

Ch. 249I Can See You Have Many Things You Can't Let Go Of

Lu Yao learned that the Yao Tribe had largely mastered its natural disasters and brought a Water Gathering Beast to Cloud Temple to test whether it could create rain. The serpent lost its purpose in the barren world, but the Guest-receiving Monk guided it toward understanding, and Lu Yao saw a new way to turn Calamity Beasts into helpers.

  • Salina told Lu Yao that the Yao Tribe had developed effective defenses against Disaster Beasts and natural disasters, while poison spot mosquitoes remained troublesome.
  • Lu Yao spotted a Water Element Disaster Beast and an Earth Element Disaster Beast fighting near Crystal City, and White God explained that he had brought them together to make them weaken each other.
  • Lu Yao sent the Water Gathering Beast to Cloud Temple and ordered White God to keep the drought-causing Sand Lizard for future use.
  • The serpent failed to gather water in Cloud Temple, grew listless, and followed the Guest-receiving Monk, who offered to show it the world and help it find answers.
  • The serpent awakened wisdom, thanked the Guest-receiving Monk, and began communicating with him, prompting Lu Yao to consider bringing other Calamity Beasts to Cloud Temple for guidance.

Ch. 250Son of the Version

Lu Yao observed how the Era Update strengthened plants and brought new rose varieties and powerful Mighty Grass to the Valley of Gods, then searched the committee’s guides for advice about entering special areas. He let the Clockwork Monkeys analyze the Abyss Key, leaving the next step toward reopening the Black Abyss in their hands.

  • Lu Yao sent captured Calamity Beasts to Cloud Temple, where the Guest-receiving Monk preached to them and ate those that attacked their fellows.
  • The Era Update increased plant growth, and Pinkman showed Lu Yao the four Rose Envoys and the newly powerful Mighty Grass in the Valley of Gods.
  • Lu Yao gave Pinkman Scavenger Feces as fertilizer, and Pinkman eagerly went to grow roses with it.
  • Lu Yao read the committee’s advice about identifying Divine Kingdoms and investigating restricted areas, then considered how to reach the Black Abyss.
  • Lu Yao gave the Abyss Key to the Clockwork Monkeys, agreed to their plan to dismantle it, and received a prompt saying they would seek to reopen the abyss passage.

Ch. 251The Correct Use of the Abyss

Lu Yao connected the Black Abyss to the Tree of Sylvanus and discovered that it could generate millions of Faith through the battles inside it. He inspected the abyss’s layers and found the revived Star Sea Lord Bian Zhe fighting the Hermit Worm, leaving him to decide whether to intervene.

  • The Clockwork Monkeys analyzed the Abyss Key, allowing Lu Yao to connect the Black Abyss to the Tree of Sylvanus.
  • Lu Yao tested the Black Abyss’s Deploy and Extract functions by sending Haizhe the Sinister inside and bringing Bian Gu out, then returning him safely.
  • Lu Yao used Faith Extraction to collect 16,431,804 Faith and learned that the abyss gathered faith released during battles between its inhabitants.
  • Lu Yao examined the abyss’s layers and saw that Gezhi had filled the third layer while the Hermit Worm fought Star Sea Lord Bian Zhe.
  • Lu Yao recognized Bian Zhe as the Star Sea God who was supposed to have fallen and considered helping him because he had received the God’s gift.

Ch. 252Slaimod of Myriad Incarnations

Lu Yao defeated the Hermit Worm and revived Slaimod of Myriad Incarnations, a clever god who had been imprisoned in the Abyss. Slaimod became Lu Yao’s apostle and explained how he had helped Title Gods stage the Battle of Abundant Plains as a massive scam.

  • The Lord of the Star Sea vanished, and the Hermit Worm swallowed the Gezhi scattered across the third layer.
  • Lu Yao sent Salina, Isabelle, Tyrant, and Forrest to kill the weakened Hermit Worm, which left behind Slaimod’s Cyst.
  • Salina told Lu Yao that Slaimod was a notorious schemer who had deceived Title Gods and was later captured by the Dark God.
  • Lu Yao spent 128,000 Power of Faith to revive Slaimod, who emerged as a slime made from the Gezhi of the third layer.
  • Slaimod accepted Lu Yao’s Apostle’s Mark and revealed that Golden Treasury Star and other Title Gods had orchestrated the Battle of Abundant Plains scam to collect faith and eliminate unwanted populations.

Ch. 253Abyss Box

Lu Yao learned how Slaimod survived the Curse Worm invasion and left the Abyss after sealing off the cracks he found. Elsewhere, the Lord of the Star Sea prepared to seek revenge, while Haizhe led the Clay Tribe into conflict and began creating a new race with the Ghouls.

  • Slaimod told Lu Yao how the Level 117 Box Worm appeared in the Eighth Layer, and how Slaimod fled to the Third Layer before the Hermit Worm captured it.
  • Lu Yao learned that the Hermit Worm had attacked the Lord of the Star Sea and consumed the Third Layer’s prisoners; he left the Fourth Layer sealed, destroyed the cracks, and brought his Apostle team out of the Abyss.
  • The Lord of the Star Sea recovered in the Second Layer, found the Third Layer empty, and concluded that other Curse Worms had arrived and taken the Gezhi; he gathered earth elements and vowed revenge.
  • Haizhe persuaded the Clay Tribe that God Yao had given them a trial and led them to provoke a conflict among the first-layer Ghouls.
  • The Clay Tribe repaired Ghoul grave mounds, gained Ghoul supporters, and fused clay with Ghouls to create a new race with agility and strength.

Ch. 254Sacrificial Offering Harvest

Slaimod began studying the Yao Clan World while Lu Yao considered how to manage the Black Abyss and examined new sacrificial offerings. He experimented with colliding Grit Worlds in the Vortex World and wondered whether accelerated worlds could be fired at Divine Kingdoms.

  • Lu Yao let Slaimod explore freely and assigned it to Canopy City, where its Gezhi avatars studied across the world.
  • Lu Yao saw that Faith Extraction had turned gray after yielding 16 million Flames of Faith and decided to prioritize the Black Abyss’s stability over risky improvements.
  • Yao City, Salt City, and Sanilo offered a repair box, a transformation hat, and the Off-road Rabbit Skirt, which Lu Yao identified as part of a legendary three-piece set.
  • Lu Yao tested Vortex World controls, then accelerated two Grit Worlds until they collided, damaged each other, and began shedding debris.
  • Lu Yao wondered whether accelerated Grit Worlds could be launched like cannonballs at Divine Kingdoms.

Ch. 255Vortex Cannon

Lu Yao developed and test-fired the Vortex Cannon, a weapon that launched Grit Worlds, but its poor accuracy sent one shell into Bamboo Gourd Country. Mistaking the collision for a deliberate attack, the Bamboo Gourd King declared war and sent his Divine Kingdom toward [Ghost Realm].

  • Lu Yao organized Grit Worlds into ammunition depots, tested their acceleration, and named his weapon the Vortex Cannon.
  • Lu Yao fired 15 World Cannons at a Fragmented World, but most missed or collided, and only two grazed the target.
  • One stray World Cannon struck Bamboo Gourd Country, shattering its World Rule Power and damaging the Divine Kingdom.
  • The Bamboo Gourd King identified [Ghost Realm] as the apparent enemy, declared a state of war, and ordered Bamboo Gourd Country to counterattack.

Ch. 256Sixty Years Drifting in Another World

Yanjui explored a third-tier Black Gravestone while searching for a legendary fourth-tier one, then refused Bulo’s offer to become an Apostle of the Ghost God. The chapter ended with Bulo announcing that a Divine Kingdom was overlapping with the Ghost Realm and war was about to begin.

  • Yanjui evaded the Black Gravestone’s Ghost Fire, subdued its Ghouls, and entered to question the ghosts about fourth-tier gravestones.
  • Yanjui learned the ghosts knew of no fourth-tier Black Gravestones and left after sensing Bulo outside.
  • Bulo urged Yanjui to become an Apostle of the Ghost God, but Yanjui refused because he followed another god.
  • Yanjui explained that he continued cultivating to survive and see how far he could go, despite Bulo warning that the Ghost God would not tolerate him forever.
  • Bulo realized a Divine Kingdom was overlapping with the Ghost Realm and left to prepare for the coming war, refusing Yanjui’s offer of help.

Ch. 257Elite Enters the Arena

Yanjui watched Bamboo Gourd Country and the Ghost Realm fight an increasingly intense God War, as new weapons and tactics shifted the battlefield. After Bamboo People soldiers discovered and attacked him in the rear, he revealed himself and prepared to fight.

  • The Funeral Tribe formed defensive lines from Black Gravestones while Bamboo Beasts attacked and targeted the Funeral Tribe members rebuilding them.
  • Over three years, the Ghost Realm's grave clusters grew stronger by absorbing fallen Bamboo People, while both sides revealed more of their forces.
  • A Tier 4 Black Gravestone appeared as a Mad Tombstone, burning Bamboo Beasts and Ghouls alike with its indiscriminate Ghost Fire.
  • Bamboo Gourd Country deployed Bamboo Birds launched from towers to scout the Ghost Realm and drop Bamboo People behind its defenses.
  • Bamboo People soldiers found Yanjui in the rear, accused him of spying, and attacked him.
  • Yanjui revealed his face, introduced himself as Yanjui of Salt City, and invited the soldiers to fight.

Ch. 258He Wasn't Joking

Bulo recalled how the Ghost God had ordered the tribe to keep Yanjui out of the God War, but Yanjui joined the battle and fought the Bamboo Beasts anyway. When the Bamboo Gourd King’s Miracle nearly killed him, a colossal Apostle appeared and rescued him, revealing the power of the God behind Yanjui.

  • Bulo remembered that the Ghost God had confirmed Yanjui came from another Divine Kingdom and ordered that he not join the God War.
  • A ghost reported that Yanjui had charged into the enemy formation, so Bulo hurried to the front line to help him.
  • Yanjui fought two Bamboo Beasts, destroying the Six-armed Bamboo Beast and forcing the Spherical Bamboo Beast to retreat.
  • The Bamboo Gourd King unleashed a Miracle that trapped Yanjui, but the Ghost God countered with a Stone Pillar Miracle.
  • Yanjui survived the Mad Tombstone’s Ghost Fire, and a giant Apostle appeared, crushed Half-Faced Skeleton, and killed a Six-armed Bamboo Beast.

Ch. 259Eating Melon Until It Reaches My Own Home

Lu Yao observed the Calamity Beasts and Pasha, then found Yanjui caught in a war between the Ghost Realm and Bamboo Gourd Country. He decided to rescue Yanjui by interrupting the battle with a natural disaster from the Vortex Cannon.

  • Lu Yao watched a Scaled Horned Foot Giant Snail lose its shell and die after the Shell Cockroaches it sheltered turned on it, while the Calamity Beasts training with the Guest-receiving Monk developed Wisdom.
  • Lu Yao observed Pasha’s progress under the Blood Knight’s special training and wondered whether Can Cong had revived somewhere in Inter-dimensional Space.
  • Lu Yao collected Grit Worlds while steering the Vortex World and discovered the Ghost Realm and Bamboo Gourd Country fighting inside the Ring of Worlds.
  • Lu Yao anchored the Ghost Realm and spotted Yanjui, now a Sand Walker, struggling against Bamboo Beasts on the battlefield.
  • Lu Yao summoned Forrest and decided to stop the Divine Kingdom war by firing the Vortex Cannon and creating a natural disaster that would force both sides to turn their attention elsewhere.

Ch. 260You guys stop fighting

Yanjui reunited with Lu Yao on the battlefield, and Lu Yao tried to stop the fighting between the Ghost Realm and Bamboo Gourd Country by firing World Cannon shells. The worlds became fused and battered, but the disasters prompted their inhabitants to cooperate, and the war appeared to have ended.

  • Yanjui repented to Lu Yao for his arrogance and failed Ascension, and Lu Yao moved him to safety under Forrest’s protection.
  • Lu Yao fired a micro Grit-class World Cannon shell between the two Divine Kingdoms, but it fused them together with a Grit World instead of separating them.
  • Lu Yao fired a small World Cannon and then more micro shells, damaging the Grit World and the fused worlds without separating the Divine Kingdoms.
  • The battered worlds suffered storms, floods, and landslides, while Ghouls and Bamboo People worked together to protect the graveyard and divert floodwaters.
  • The Funeral Tribe and Reed People built bridges and supports together, and Lu Yao saw that the war seemed to be over.

Ch. 261What madness is this bastard throwing?

Ghost God’s forces fought Bamboo Gourd Country in a God War, using Ghost Scouts to target its Reed People while struggling against Zhunan and the Bamboo army. A catastrophic collision with another Divine Kingdom devastated both sides, forcing Ghost God to consider asking Sand Walker to negotiate a truce with Bamboo Gourd King.

  • Ghost God deployed Bulo and Hobart to prepare the Ghost Realm’s defenses as Bamboo Gourd Country’s main forces attacked.
  • Ghost Scouts infiltrated the enemy rear, identified the Reed People as Bamboo Gourd Country’s designers and organizers, and assassinated key targets while Bamboo Birds raided the Ghost Realm.
  • Zhunan joined the fighting and overwhelmed Hobart, leaving the Ghost Realm at a disadvantage as Ghost God prepared a trap for the advancing enemy.
  • Sand Walker Yanjui fought Bamboo Beasts on the front line, and Ghost God reconsidered his importance after recognizing the power of the god behind him.
  • A second Divine Kingdom collided with the Ghost Realm, causing widespread disasters that devastated both the Ghost Realm and Bamboo Gourd Country and forced their armies to withdraw.
  • Ghost God decided Sand Walker might help open negotiations with Bamboo Gourd King because neither Divine Kingdom could afford to continue the war.
