The newborn sun shone on Penelope's profile, and the girl's fair skin gave off an enticing morning glow.
Percy, who had gazed at her foolishly all night, felt his heart stir again. But seeing the exhaustion Penelope had suffered from last night's reckless impulse, Percy smiled stupidly. In the end, he restrained himself, merely leaning over to gently kiss Penelope's cheek.
