"What do you think, Headmaster Dumbledore?"
Amosta smiled faintly and turned the question back on him.
Rather than feeling offended by those words, Dumbledore relaxed completely.
However, he said nothing. He merely stared at the hands resting before him, looking both weary and deeply saddened.
The silence between them lasted a long time, until Mrs. Weasley entered Amosta's silencing field.
"Oh, Amosta—"
Mrs. Weasley had clearly noticed the subtle atmosphere between them. Holding a tray, she looked somewhat nervous.
"I thought, since Harry didn't eat breakfast, then you..."
"Thank you very much, Molly—"
Amosta gladly accepted the tray.
"I am rather hungry."
Mrs. Weasley pressed her lips together and forced out a smile. Then, carrying Harry's breakfast, she moved away from Amosta.
But after taking only a few steps, Mrs. Weasley turned back and stopped, looking uneasily at the two men by the table.
"I hope you two weren't arguing?"
"Don't worry, Molly—"
Dumbledore finally put away his troubled expression and smiled.
"Amosta and I were merely discussing the trouble Harry is currently facing."
Mrs. Weasley let out a breath of relief.
"That's good. You know how terrible things are now. We can only rely on you."
With that, Mrs. Weasley left the kitchen.
"I'm sorry, Amosta—"
Mrs. Weasley's words seemed to have stirred something in Dumbledore. Light flickered in his bright blue eyes.
"It is not that I do not trust you. It is simply that, over the course of a long life, people cannot always avoid making mistakes. What matters more is realizing them afterward."
Amosta carefully cut into a fried egg on his plate.
"So, you intend to generously give Fudge another chance to come to his senses, Headmaster Dumbledore?"
Dumbledore merely sighed heavily and fell silent again.
"I'm not that generous, Headmaster Dumbledore."
After finishing the
