Inside the office, the Slytherin students looked at one another, blinking. Even Hermione cast a curious glance their way.

If it had been Azkaban, she certainly would not have wanted to set foot in that land of despair. But Professor Breen's brief description had indeed stirred her curiosity about this prison.

"When will it be arranged?"

Theodore asked eagerly.

"Probably..."

Amosta pondered briefly.

"Before Halloween."

"Can my mother come with me?"

"Sorry, Theodore. This is only an educational activity for Hogwarts students who are about to graduate. It is not open to the public."

Amosta said calmly.

Theodore's disappointment was plainly visible, but in the end, he did not question it. He merely nodded and lowered his eyes, eagerly flipping through the Avalon Prison Management Regulations he had received.

The kettle on the mantel floated up on its own. White porcelain cups, as bright as moonlight, were filled with water one after another, and amid the curling steam, the fragrance of tea spread through the room.

Everyone received a cup of Professor Breen's uniquely favored green tea, but aside from him, no one actually lifted theirs to drink.

The Greengrass Sisters' faces were slightly pale. Both sisters knew it would soon be their turn, and sure enough—
