For the first time ever, Hogwarts' Great Hall welcomed some "unusual guests."
The House-elves in the kitchens had polished the dining utensils until they gleamed like silver, and the food prepared was exceptionally lavish. Yet few students were focused on the food before them.
Professor Breen delivered another brief speech:
"We welcome you to Hogwarts with great enthusiasm and anticipation for this exchange program.
This exchange is unprecedented in the history of world magic, and I believe you have all seen the far-reaching significance behind magical exchanges across different realms.
I believe this is a magnificent beginning. Through our exchanges, both sides will usher magical civilization into a new era of prosperity!"
Professor Breen said, then raised his cup toward the many creatures seated at the table between the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw tables.
Dumbledore and the other faculty members at the staff table did the same.
"Isn't this a bit over the top?"
Ron said with a frown, though under Hermione's sharp glare, he still raised his cup toward that table.
The feast began.
Almost every student was watching the table occupied by all manner of "unusual guests."
To be honest, the Goblins, who were the most numerous, did not interest the students much.
They had seen plenty of Goblins. Gringotts was full of them, and even on Hogsmeade weekends, they often saw Goblins at The Three Broomsticks Inn.
Eating at the same table as them was no big deal, merely a little novel at most.
The children Professor Lahansen had brought only sparked a little interest among the young wizards.
They were all very well-mannered. The wide variety of food laid out on the table did not interest them; instead, they were more curious about the Great Hall itself and the young wizards seated all around them.
Quite a
