Krum's Choice

Dumbledore had changed wands.

An Elder Wand. This wand had clearly not been made by Ollivanders or his forefathers.

But why?

Generally speaking, the wand a wizard received before enrolling would accompany them for life. It was a wizard's closest comrade and companion, and under normal circumstances, it would never be replaced. Yet Dumbledore had replaced his wand.

As far as Dumbledore was concerned, there were only two possibilities. One was that his wand had been damaged under certain circumstances—for instance, in his duel with Grindelwald—and so he had commissioned a new one. But that seemed unlikely. Wizards in the British wizarding world had long grown accustomed to Ollivanders' wands. Even if he had needed a replacement, he should have gone to Ollivanders.

The second possibility was more plausible. Grindelwald had found the Elder Wand among the three Deathly Hallows, and in that final duel, he had been defeated by Dumbledore. According to the Elder Wand's rules of succession, Dumbledore had acquired this legendary and immensely powerful wand—an Elder Wand.

The atmosphere in the office quietly grew oppressive. Amosta's brows sank slightly, his gaze as deep and heavy as an abyss.

The Tablet of Destiny Merlin had left behind in the Centaur Secret Realm—the one that could open Death's Door and lead to the sea of stars—still existed within his body. Amosta could not find it, nor did he know its purpose, but he was not overly worried. If Merlin had wanted to harm him, there would have been no need to painstakingly guide him alongside the Four Founders of Hogwarts.

There is a way home for you among the stars. He had never forgotten the revelation Merlin left behind.
