After knocking on the door, Amosta and Remus entered the room one after the other at the summons of a middle-aged woman's voice.

Two women sat behind separate desks in an office about half the size of a classroom. The middle-aged woman directly facing the door, with loose shoulder-length burgundy hair, was presumably the one who had just called them in. She sat at her desk, listlessly flipping through a Muggle magazine filled with knitting patterns.

Behind the other, much smaller desk, which was piled high with thick stacks of documents, sat a much younger woman, who looked as though she had only just graduated from a magical school.

She was very beautiful, with delicate, lively features and lustrous chestnut hair. Her fair skin was crystal-clear, as though bathed in flawless moonlight. At that moment, her pink lips were lightly pursed as she focused on organizing the day's wizard entry records.

The only flaw was that her neat ponytail and solemn, focused expression slightly diminished her beauty.

Amosta's unnatural halt puzzled Remus. Standing beside him, Remus quickly glanced at Amosta, then felt a flicker of surprise rise within him.

Amosta was staring at the girl who appeared to be an assistant, his lips slightly parted. A trace of bewilderment showed in his usually composed eyes. Remus followed Amosta's gaze and noticed the assistant's striking beauty as well.

For an instant, Remus had the urge to burst out laughing.

He had known Amosta for quite some time.

Whether it was his unfathomable magical accomplishments or his wisdom in understanding people, Amosta's shrewd competence made many first-time acquaintances instinctively regard him with awe. Of course, once one knew Amosta well enough, one would realize that he was a very easygoing wizard, always thoughtful and considerate of others' feelings.
