Since Amosta was willing to accept an invitation based on a highly suspicious letter, there was no reason for him to refuse the dinner invitation from Amelia's parents. It could only be scheduled after the time agreed upon in that letter, however.
In any case, a week after Amosta and Remus landed in New York, the two of them finally officially stepped through the doors of MACUSA.

In the middle of the spacious hall stood roughly thirty or forty wizards. Dressed formally and wearing solemn expressions, they waited in silence. Judging by the grave look that appeared on Amelia's face the moment she saw them, these wizards gathered to welcome them were clearly no ordinary people.
A red carpet stretched from the entrance all the way to the feet of the welcoming party, while curious wizards who had stopped to watch and reporters who had raised their cameras early on were kept beyond a designated area by cordons and Aurors enforcing martial law.
"That's Mr. Thrak Grevis, and Ms. Marcyll White from the Department of International Magical Cooperation."
Amelia quietly told Amosta and Remus behind her, identifying the two senior MACUSA officials at the front. Then, she noticeably quickened her pace. Remus, who had been walking at Amosta's side, silently fell back two steps.
"Welcome, Mr. Breen—"
When the two parties were thirty feet apart, MACUSA's two representatives stepped out from the formation. The middle-aged witch with lightly curled blonde hair extended her hand toward Amosta well in advance. With a friendly smile and a clear, ringing voice, she said,
"Welcome to MACUSA, the most powerful wizard of this age!"
