Remus had long since submitted the relevant materials and catalog to the Department of International Magical Cooperation for review. Now, Amosta and Remus needed to provide a detailed explanation of the submitted documents.
After a few light coughs from Ms. White, the atmosphere in the conference room became solemn. Marcyll's gentle smile vanished as well, and she looked seriously at Amosta.
"Then we will now begin questioning Amosta Breen and Remus Lupin regarding the functions and safety of the 'Star of the East Learning Machine.' Please provide a detailed explanation."
Amosta smiled at Remus. Understanding the cue, Remus cleared his throat and began his introduction in a slightly tight voice.
This matter had been dragged back and forth for nearly half a year. At the request of the relevant parties, Remus had submitted several versions of materials to MACUSA for review. Everyone present in the conference room was already thoroughly familiar with what Remus was saying. They all knew that the problem had never been with those documents.
As his explanation continued, Remus's voice gradually became smoother. Meanwhile, Amosta, Marcyll White, and Thrak Grevis—the people who would truly determine the outcome of this review—remained silent.
An hour later, the parched Remus finally finished reading the information he had carefully selected, then looked expectantly at the two senior MACUSA officials.
"Then, is there anything else your side needs to add?"
Marcyll asked in a serious tone.
A faint stir arose in the conference room. Amosta, who had sat there for so long like a smiling statue, finally stirred. He quickly glanced at the expressionless Marcyll and Grevis across the table, weighed his thoughts for a moment, and ultimately decided to voice the idea that Newt's casual remark had inspired.
"Cough, cough—"
With a light cough, Amosta drew every gaze toward himself.
