Watching the terrified Sato Ryuhei, Amelia found it rather amusing. She knew he feared Amosta's thunderous methods—that he might wipe out his organization just as he had purged those scum wizards who experimented on Muggles. But his defense was utterly laughable. Did smuggling magical creatures somehow not violate the law, not count as a heinous crime?
But the debate over that could wait. What Amelia cared about most now was who exactly was receiving these magical creatures, what their purpose was, and where those trafficked high-risk magical creatures had gone.
Amelia glanced at Amosta, hoping he would ask those questions.
"This can't be your first transaction, can it?"
For some reason, however, Amosta remained utterly unhurried. He pondered for a while, leisurely taking a few sips of coffee and some bites of cake before continuing in an unhurried tone.
"You guessed correctly—"
Sato Ryuhei said with a trace of humiliation in his voice.
"We... we've carried out many transactions. In the early years, they only wanted magical creatures that weren't so dangerous, but they demanded large quantities. They had always been our biggest customer.
But in recent years, their tastes have become more demanding. They began asking us to provide high-risk, rare magical creatures.
You know, dealing with those creatures is extremely dangerous. But they have a good reputation and pay promptly, so we agreed to this transaction and went to East Africa to capture that Venomous Tentacula for them.
This operation cost us dearly. Several members originally responsible for this line of business died at the hands of the Venomous Tentacula, which was why I was sent here."
Amosta considered this for a few seconds.
"You never wondered what they needed so many magical creatures for?"
Clatter!
A customer at a nearby table knocked over a teapot and hurriedly
