As night deepened, Woolworth Building.

What had happened last night was an absolute disgrace to MACUSA. A dark wizard had broken into the building, killed an employee, taken Amosta's wand, and left unharmed. It seemed to prove that all the building's security measures were utterly useless.

Fortunately, news of Chairman Kouhaug's reelection swept through the entire American wizarding world, drawing the attention of reporters who had been eagerly sniffing out news everywhere and successfully suppressing the scandal.

Tonight, security within the building was noticeably tighter. Aurors and temporarily requisitioned Hit Wizards could be seen patrolling the hundreds of floors inside the Congress Building.

"I have to remind you one more time, Graves—"

The routine meeting of department heads had ended, and as the meeting room doors opened, the cold, oppressive atmosphere inside immediately spilled out.

Marcyll White of the Department of International Magical Cooperation was the first to rush out. The frost on her face made it clear that the discussion just now had been anything but pleasant.

After rushing out and stepping through the doorway, Marcyll suddenly turned around. Looking at Graves, who still sat at the conference table with a grim face but unwavering eyes, she said coldly,

"If Mr. Breen suspends his cooperation with us because of your rude conduct, then I will certainly impeach you in Congress for abuse of authority. Furthermore, I must tell you that Mr. Breen is the Vice President of the International Confederation of Wizards. Your foolish actions toward him may very well be exposed internationally. When that happens, our reputation among our counterparts will suffer terribly, and that is something Chairman Kouhaug will never accept!"

Having said that, Marcyll did not wait for any response from Graves. She turned and strode away, her high heels clicking sharply against the floor.
