Background / History

God Stealer rose to prominence in the professional scene seven years before his appearance in the second playthrough. Considered one of the two greatest talents alongside Brother Dao, he proved that the Thief King class was viable at the highest level of competition and later won two championships with the skill-intensive God Stealer playstyle 265 408.

Recently retired, he initially attempted to buy his progression through arena Experience Points, spending over 300,000 Soft Girl Currency in only a few days. After calculating that future advancement would be financially and practically unsustainable, he began seeking overlooked commoners and field opportunities instead 266.

His early approach to NPCs was transactional: he viewed rescuing isolated villagers as a profitable way to earn Experience Points and Creator God faction favorability. His encounters with Karn, Slan, Megan Douglas, Feilin, and Fino gradually forced him to confront the possibility that the world was real and that inaction could make him complicit in harm 267 407 411.

Appearance

God Stealer appears as a young human man who often fights empty-handed until he steals or retrieves a needed attack or weapon. His equipment is custom-made and expensive, despite his outwardly casual presentation 265 266.

  • His Player body has no soul and functions as a remotely controlled projection 354 407.
  • He can transform through a pink gem into a Magical Girl-style combat outfit 270.
  • He later wields the divine artifact dagger Heavenly Inquiry Unblunted 412.

Personality

God Stealer is analytical, patient, and intensely information-driven. He studies opponents before committing, treats unfamiliar mechanics as problems to be solved, and deliberately appears relaxed to make enemies underestimate him 396. His combat style reflects this mindset: he prefers reconnaissance, pre-set traps, and stolen counters over direct exchanges.

He is pragmatic rather than conventionally heroic. When confronting Megan Douglas, he explicitly rejected the role of moral judge; he chose to kill Megan because the necromancer was demonstrably dangerous, could be killed without triggering the usual punishment, and offered enormous Experience Points 270. However, he later refuses Yggdrasil's request to slaughter civilians for their souls and chooses to oppose Fino even when doing so is likely fatal 418 422.

Abilities & Skills

Theft Arts

God Stealer's core ability allows him to seize attacks, skills, locations, perceptions, and other phenomena after understanding how they function.

  • Grasping Hand creates a force field around a target to steal it. Capturing moving venom requires tracing its entire form almost instantly, with an error margin below 10% 265.
  • He can steal physical, magical, and intangible attacks—including curses, slashes, bullets, Wraiths, and summoned creatures—provided he can sense and comprehend them 272 358 396.
  • He can hide from enemies by stealing his own existence or their perception of him, allowing him to pass through low-level monster groups without provoking hostility 396.
  • Stored attacks are limited in number and are consumed when used; if his slots are full, he cannot take new skills 271 412.
  • Different attacks require different theft methods. He is strongest against repeated or understood techniques, while varied mechanics and opponents who refuse to attack can severely restrict his offense 407 414.

Spatial Positioning and Traps

God Stealer routinely prepares escape routes and attack angles before revealing his full hand.

  • He can swap positions with pre-placed daggers, marker stones, or clones 271 401 412.
  • He hid fired sniper rounds in space, then released them after Megan Douglas entered their range, bypassing the necromancer's defensive expectations 271.
  • He uses stolen movement and attacks to isolate opponents, create blind spots, drain a mage's Magic Power, and force enemies into preplanned counters 272 396.

Stolen Combat Techniques

His stored arsenal changes according to what he has studied or taken from other combatants.

  • He used Xiujie's stolen ice magic to freeze the Humus Dragon and convert its damage reduction into a critical-damage weakness 265.
  • He acquired and used Brother Dao's slash after enduring extensive practice against it 265 396.
  • He stored Paladin Divine Blessing specifically to instantly destroy Megan Douglas's Death Knight 272.
  • He has used a Kamen Rider transformation and Dream Starter-derived effects to counter Wraith-based attacks 271.

Fire Thief

After advancing to Fire Thief, God Stealer's theft becomes substantially more absolute.

  • He can steal an enemy's abilities and Magic Power, leaving victims unable to use the corresponding skills 425.
  • His theft can extend to attributes, life, and time, though each skill has a significant cooldown 425.
  • He inherited Feilin's ability to steal The End, allowing a single theft to function as a renewable reserve of ultimate moves after the cooldown ends 424.
  • He can alter nearby matter into realistic illusions; in the sparse Dream Space, he used his own blood as material for them 424.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Heavenly Inquiry Unblunted — Lv. 200 golden-quality divine artifact dagger. God Stealer cannot fully use it below its level requirement, but its sharpness remains effective 412.
  • Birdcage Rune — Used to contain Feilin and conduct the master-recognition ritual connected to his Fire Thief advancement 397 407 424.
  • Baron's Mecha — A Mecha gifted by Baron; outdated for God Stealer's level but useful for rapidly clearing large groups of low-level enemies 396.
  • Mechanical insect thermos — A concealed gift from Baron. The insects carry physical, magical, poisonous, cursed, Magic Break, and Divine damage effects 265.
  • Demon-Breaking Drill — A thermite-producing drill used to penetrate Megan Douglas's protective barrier 273.
  • Drop of Plumpness — Healing medicine capable of visibly regenerating a severed arm 405.

Relationships

  • Brother Dao / Not Iaido, But Drawing Sword — Fellow professional legend and one of the two talents to whom God Stealer was compared. God Stealer studied Brother Dao's slash through repeated losses and later stole it for combat use 265 396.
  • Xiujie — Repeat student of the Magic Academy who accompanied him around Corrosive Lake, taught him exploration logic, and shielded him from the Humus Dragon's corrosive blood 265 266.
  • Karn and Slan — Isolated youths rescued from the underground village. Though initially motivated by reward potential, God Stealer later checked on their welfare and urged them to pursue cultural education as well as combat training 266 408.
  • Li Li — Creator God of the Divine Domain. God Stealer delivered the wandering soul Xipetotic to him and received a Gold Apple, Divine Power Source Stones, and the prospect of future ancient-god retrieval quests 281.
  • Baron / I Don't Want to Pay Breach of Contract Fees — Provided God Stealer with mechanical insects and a Mecha, though Baron demanded secrecy regarding the insects' origin 265 396.
  • Feilin — Chained Succubus and daughter of the World Mother Goddess. God Stealer initially captured her through the birdcage ritual, but later inherited her memories and abilities when he advanced to Fire Thief 397 407 424.
  • Fino — Succubus casino manager and later S-Class threat. Their conflict in the Dream Space becomes the central test of God Stealer's endurance, moral choices, and Fire Thief abilities 401 422 424.
  • Humorous Old Man — Fellow professional player and ally who assisted God Stealer through backstage communication and later helped pressure Fino into retreating 395 422.
  • Driver — Level 210 outsider who tested God Stealer in a combat interview. After he successfully stole one of her summoned attacks and killed her “one and a half times,” she recommended a Class II contract 358.
  • President — Outsider talent scout who identified God Stealer's soulless projected body and employed him to locate potential professional-player recruits 354.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Corrosive Lake and the Underground Village

  • God Stealer encountered the Humus Dragon while Karn and Slan attempted to flee their isolated village. As a Lv. 77 Gold Rank Player, he stole the dragon's venom, froze its defenses with Xiujie's magic, and nearly cut it in half with Brother Dao's stolen slash 265.
  • He initially entered the village region seeking commoners for Experience Points and faction favorability, but discovered the villagers had suffered under the necromancer Megan Douglas 266 267.
  • He confronted and killed the Lv. 101 Legendary necromancer through traps, stolen Wraiths, hidden bullets, Divine Blessing, and a Demon-Breaking Drill 270 272 273.

Xipetotic and the Divine Domain

  • After Megan's death, God Stealer found the wandering soul Xipetotic and contained it in a divine-related bow before later transporting it to the Divine Domain 273 274 281.
  • Li Li accepted Xipetotic, rewarded God Stealer, and suggested that returning more ancient gods could form a repeatable quest chain 281.

Outsider Talent Assessment

  • God Stealer met the Driver and President, two Level 210 outsiders scouting for valuable performers. He offered to connect them with skilled Players in exchange for a share of any resulting profits 353 354.
  • During his combat interview with the Driver, he demonstrated enough versatility to earn her recommendation for a Class II contract and potential SS-class development 358.

Contention World and the Succubus Mission

  • As an SS-class Seed, God Stealer entered the Contention World with a team of 12 professional Players. His mission was to capture a Prototype V3 Succubus and win her recognition as a bonded Battle Pet 395.
  • He prioritized intelligence gathering over immediate combat, deducing the rules of a small Abyss world and using theft to evade or clear its defenders 396.
  • He found Feilin chained in a tower, captured her with the birdcage rune, and sought high-level Bosses to complete the ritual 397 398.

Dream Space and Fire Thief

  • Fino's casino forced God Stealer into a prolonged conflict with Succubi, illusions, charms, and Dream Space distortions. He repeatedly escaped through pre-set markers, stolen attacks, and consumables 401 405.
  • After witnessing the Ice Crystal containing countless trapped souls, he began questioning his own conduct and admitted that the master-recognition ritual made him feel like a villain 406 407.
  • He chose to intervene against Fino's attempt to devour the souls, even while knowing that an S-Class opponent could kill him 411 422.
  • God Stealer advanced to Fire Thief, gained Feilin's memories and abilities, and used his new theft and illusion powers to stall Fino until other Players arrived 424 425.
