Ways to Get Acquainted!

Might Guy landed in the open space before them, a fierce gust sweeping outward and making even Shinichi narrow his eyes.

The person now standing before them was a thick-browed young man with a bowl cut and a green jumpsuit. His kappa-like outfit made Shinichi Hyuga, seeing the real Might Guy for the first time, twitch at the corner of his eye.

"Yo!"

"Good morning, my new partners!!!"

Might Guy suddenly thrust up a thumb and flashed them a passionate grin. His gleaming teeth even made Shinichi briefly feel that the man ought to be endorsing toothpaste.

That utterly chuunibyou entrance made Shinichi sense something familiar about Might Guy.

Mm... it really was Might Guy.

"H-Hello, Might Guy."

Clearly, Shisui Uchiha had also been dazzled by Guy's entrance, to the point that he stammered.

Shibi Aburame, meanwhile, seemed to have expected it. He scratched his head, walked over to Guy, and warmly patted him on the shoulder.

Though Might Guy's entrance had been full of chuunibyou energy and gave the impression of a rough, boorish personality, he had actually been quietly observing Shinichi and Shisui Uchiha during his introduction.

"All right, now that everyone in our squad is here."

"This is Might Guy. I believe you have already heard his introduction."

"Guy, this is Chunin Shisui Uchiha, and this is Special Jonin Shinichi Hyuga."

With the squad assembled, Shibi Aburame held Shinichi's hand in one hand and Shisui's in the other as he introduced them to Guy. He and Guy had known each other for a long time, so there was no need for introductions between them.

"Please take care of me!!"

Despite Shinichi and Shisui being far younger than him, Guy did not put on any sort of adult airs.

After speaking, he even crouched down before Shinichi. "Shinichi Hyuga, I've heard of you!"

"I heard you defeated Kakashi. Well done!!"

Shinichi's name was quite well known among Konoha Ninja, after all. He had risen to prominence by stepping on Kakashi, so naturally Might Guy had heard of him.

It was obvious from his tone that Guy was somewhat delighted by Kakashi's misfortune. Truly worthy of being Kakashi's "rival."

"Senior Kakashi went easy on me."

Shinichi was very modest. He did not believe Kakashi had gone all out at the time; Kakashi had merely underestimated him and been defeated by his lucky victory.

"Hahaha, that still means you're strong enough."

Guy laughed as he heavily patted Shinichi on the shoulder.

At the same time, Shibi Aburame clapped his hands and brought the conversation back on track.

"I gathered everyone here this time because there is something important to discuss. We can chat later."

As he spoke, the other three focused their attention on Shibi Aburame.

"Our squad has just been formed, so we likely will not be assigned any important missions for a while."

His stern words cooled the warm atmosphere of their first meeting.

After sweeping his gaze over them, Shibi Aburame spoke.

"Let me introduce myself again. My name is Shibi Aburame, and I am an insect controller of the Aburame Clan."

"I specialize in sensing and intelligence gathering. My combat style mainly relies on controlling insects."

Shibi Aburame gave a brief introduction once more, then looked at Guy, whom he knew well. Guy understood and silently nodded before continuing.

"Might Guy. I specialize in close-range taijutsu!"

Guy's introduction was brief. After him, Shisui naturally understood what his two companions intended. His eyes suddenly transformed into two-tomoe Sharingan as he spoke.

"My Sharingan has awakened. I specialize in reconnaissance, Genjutsu, Fire Release, and shuriken techniques."

"As for my combat style... I suppose I'm suited for mid- to long-range combat."

Shisui was well-rounded. His ninjutsu, taijutsu, and Genjutsu were all at a respectable level, making him the one who most resembled a conventional ninja among them.

Once he finished, everyone's gaze turned to Shinichi. Compared to Shisui's versatility, Shinichi did not have quite as many things worth mentioning.

"Byakugan, Gentle Fist, and the Flying Thunder God Technique."

"Those are the main sources of my combat strength."

As Shinichi spoke, he silently took stock of the things he currently possessed and realized that these were the only ones truly worth bringing up.

However, upon hearing the Flying Thunder God Technique, the way they looked at Shinichi changed somewhat.

Shisui was greatly surprised and gave Shinichi several extra glances, finally understanding why such a young child was a Special Jonin. Shibi Aburame had already known this information, but his eyes still lit up upon hearing Shinichi confirm it himself. As for Might Guy, he stood there dumbfounded.

"The Flying Thunder God Technique used by the Fourth Hokage?"

After a brief stupor, Might Guy immediately cried out in shock, acting utterly unlike a Jonin.

"Hey, Guy."

"Calm down."

"And keep Shinichi's Flying Thunder God a secret."

Shibi Aburame could not help reminding him, recalling Minato's instructions to him.

"There is only so much we can learn about one another through talking."

"Nothing helps people understand each other better than fighting."

"Let's have a few simple sparring matches and gain a basic understanding of one another first."

As he spoke, Shibi Aburame beckoned Shinichi over.

"How about this? Shinichi and I will be one group. Guy, you and Shisui will be another."

"We'll exchange a few moves first, then figure out what kind of battle formation suits our squad."

Nothing made it easier for people to understand each other than combat. Shibi Aburame was clearly not the sort to rigidly follow convention either; right from the start, he intended to see the depth and caliber of his teammates.

Naturally, no one objected to his proposal. They had chosen a training ground as their gathering place, so everyone had been mentally prepared.

"Then let's begin."

"My ability is insect control."

The four split into two pairs and stood apart. As the squad leader, Shibi Aburame made the first move.

As he spoke, swarms of black insects poured from the sleeves of his hands and surged toward Shisui and Guy in the distance.

Kikaichū.

A type of insect capable of devouring Chakra, and the ninja insect most commonly used and raised by the Aburame Clan.

"Shisui!"

"I'm counting on you!"

Guy specialized in taijutsu. Faced with the dense black swarm, he decisively moved to Shisui's side to "seek shelter."

Shisui understood. Without hesitation, he formed hand seals, puffed out his chest, and blasted a fireball toward the swarm.

Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!

The Uchiha Clan's signature ninjutsu. Blazing flames came roaring forth and struck the swarm, instantly setting it alight.

Their vision was filled with firelight.

At that moment, Shinichi Hyuga flashed to Shibi Aburame's side. As he branded a Flying Thunder God Mark onto him, he also drew Kunai and scattered them around the battlefield.
