Background

Minato was a celebrated prodigy of his generation and a veteran of the Third Shinobi World War. After rescuing Kushina Uzumaki from Cloud ninja attempting to abduct the future jinchūriki, he became Jiraiya's disciple and built his reputation through the Flying Thunder God Technique. His wartime accomplishments included helping secure Konoha's victory at Kannabi Bridge, escaping an encirclement by two Stone ninja jinchūriki, and deterring Kumogakure's A–B Combination. 7 53

His strength, reputation, and character earned the Hyuga Clan's support when he became Hokage. Hiashi regarded Minato as a leader who would not threaten the clan's standing in Konoha. 4
