Although the Ministry of Magic had many flaws, Andy had no intention of overthrowing it and setting himself up as king. After all, being the third Dark Lord was not so easy.
Besides, Andy did not like managing other people, especially in the Wizarding World—it was far too much of a waste of time.
Andy preferred researching magic.
Ever since arriving in this world, Andy had only one dream: to follow the path of magic to its very end.
Moreover, the Ministry of Magic did effectively manage the Wizarding World, preventing it from being exposed to Muggles.
But the Ministry of Magic's shortcomings absolutely could not be ignored.
Just look at the Little Wizards at Hogwarts!
If someone conducted a survey, at least ninety percent of Hogwarts students were learning magic solely to find a respectable job after graduation.
How was that any different from Muggles? If the purpose of learning magic was merely to work, they might as well live in the Muggle World. At the very least, living standards in the Muggle World far surpassed those of the Wizarding World.
Of course, everyone had their own aspirations. Andy would not force his beliefs on others.
It would be great to have like-minded friends, but it did not matter if he had none.
If possible, Andy wanted to establish a Magic Laboratory devoted to researching the nature of magic, or experimenting with forbidden spells.
Just imagine it. If they dissected a wizard and observed his cellular tissue under a microscope, might they discover something different from Muggles?
Or, when they wanted to carry out a dangerous magical experiment, if a wizard could "voluntarily" serve as a guinea pig, would that not avoid some of the danger?
Of course, Andy was not a Dark Wizard. He could not just slice up some random wizard or conduct forbidden magical experiments on one.
Andy still had principles!
But... what if the other person was a Dark Wizard, or a Death Eater? During the war, secretly slicing up one or two Death Eaters probably would not be noticed, right? Andy thought back.
There were seven installments of "Harry Potter" in total.
In other words, when Harry reached seventh year, it would be time for the Final Battle with Voldemort.
Factoring in both sides' preparations, as well as the time it took for Voldemort to return and gather his old followers—Voldemort should have returned when Harry was in his fourth or fifth year.
"So that means I still have four or five years to prepare."
Andy thought to himself, With the system's help, if I study magic diligently from now on, bringing down a Death Eater in secret four years from now should not be a problem, right?
A blow to the back of the head, drag them away, slice them up—the complete service.
At that thought, Andy suddenly found himself looking forward to Voldemort's return.
With Dumbledore and Harry standing out front and drawing the fire, Andy could carry out his own little schemes in the shadows.
For example, that magical experiment involving magic eroding the body only lacked a Death Eater willing to "voluntarily" offer himself up.
"..."
Andy shook his head, temporarily dismissing those chaotic thoughts.
For now, Andy still needed to keep his feet on the ground and learn magic one step at a time.
At around six in the afternoon, Andy and Hermione walked down the stairs to the first floor, preparing to head to the Great Hall for dinner.
"Hello there, fellow students!"
Just after turning a corner on the first floor, Andy and Hermione were stopped by an older Slytherin student.
"Uh, hello. Is something the matter?" Andy asked.
"I'm Jon Eberke, a third-year Slytherin student."
Eberke said, "Here's the thing: Slytherin is conducting a secret survey. May I ask... are you satisfied with our Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor? Professor Quirrell, that is!"
Andy and Hermione exchanged glances. As expected, it had come.
"Quirrell?"
Andy raised his brows, his tone displeased. "Of course not! All he does is read from the textbook. If someone like that can be a professor, then I can be a professor too!"
Hermione puffed out her cheeks as well. "And the classroom smells awful."
Eberke's face lit up at once. "Then... if we have a chance to drive Professor Quirrell away and have the school replace him with a qualified professor... would you two be willing?"
"Of course!"
Andy immediately put on an eager expression. "What do we need to do?"
Eberke looked around, then mysteriously took out a sheet of parchment and handed it to Andy. "You two... just need to sign your names on this parchment. As for the rest—we'll handle that!"
Andy accepted it and took a look.
The parchment listed Professor Quirrell's many offenses in detail, including but not limited to: stuttering, only reading from the textbook, knowing absolutely nothing about Dark Arts Defence, not even teaching students how to cast spells or answering their questions, filling the classroom with a disgusting smell...
Those were still relatively normal, but there were more unusual accusations further down.
For example: harassing female students, harassing male students, arbitrarily confiscating student property, suspected ties to Death Eaters, even having once served the Mysterious Man... and so on! Good grief! After reading through all of Quirrell's supposed crimes, Andy felt that even locking someone like him in Azkaban for life would not be enough.
He deserved a hot kiss from a Dementor.
The rest was fairly normal.
Andy even spotted some things he himself had said to Malfoy.
—We must defend our right to learn to the death.
—Hogwarts belongs to the Wizarding World, but even more so to us students.
—We absolutely cannot let Quirrell waste our precious time. This is slow murder!
It sounded incredibly stirring.
After that came densely packed student signatures. Andy gave them a rough glance; there were only a few dozen signatures in total.
Such slow progress? Before Andy could ask, Eberke explained, "So far, several hundred students have signed. This is only one copy."
So that was it!
There was nothing wrong with the complaint letter. Andy happily wrote down his name, then handed it to Hermione.
Hermione hesitated for only two-tenths of a second before writing her name as well.
"Eberke, about this complaint letter—I mean, when exactly will Quirrell leave Hogwarts?" Andy handed the complaint letter back to Eberke and asked at the same time.
"Probably this month?"
Eberke could not be sure either. In Slytherin, he was merely an errand-running lackey. He had no idea what those pure-blood descendants were planning.
But it would not be any later than the end of the month.
"I'm looking forward to it!"
Andy nodded and headed toward the Great Hall with Hermione.
Eberke, meanwhile, shrank back into the corner and quietly waited for the next Little Wizard passing by to take the bait.
