Background
Long Yuanzheng was one of the Three Saints of the Southern Gate, alongside his elder brother Long Yuansheng and junior brother Long Yuanwang. Long Yuansheng united Nanjiang Province's extraordinary martial arts sects into the Southern Saint Sect, but disappeared only three years after its founding. The still-fragmented sect then collapsed in an internal struggle, during which Long Yuanwang was killed. 60
Qin Huan of the Silver Ring Gate poisoned and assassinated Long Yuanwang, then framed the Star Luo Gate to deepen the conflict among the former Southern Saint Sect factions. 61 Unable to preserve the broader alliance, Long Yuanzheng spent the following decade maintaining the Dragon Gate's remaining inheritance rather than pursuing immediate revenge. 60 76
He became the true master of Dragon Gate Martial Hall, whose main hall and two Mingguang City branches were his properties. Despite his status, he showed little interest in worldly influence, wealth, or expanding the sect indiscriminately. 7 59
Appearance
Long Yuanzheng was a rugged man around fifty years old, with graying temples and the bearing of someone fierce in his youth who had become steadier with age. He normally stood around 1.9 meters tall. 20 65
- Usually wore a white martial arts uniform. 76
- Had a stern, intimidating gaze that made Su Ti feel as though he were facing a dangerous beast. 20
- His normal build was already broad and powerful. 20
- While using the Golden Python Transformation Dragon Technique, he grew to roughly 2.6 meters, his muscles expanded dramatically, and his eyes turned light gold. 63 76
Personality
Long Yuanzheng was straightforward, decisive, and deeply committed to the older ideals of martial artists. He believed martial arts existed not merely for self-cultivation, but to resist violence and injustice when necessary. He admired Su Ti's willingness to fight after being threatened rather than condemning him for killing Li Mingyuan. 22 25
He was fiercely protective of his disciples. Though Su Ti entered the Dragon Gate only after causing serious trouble, Long Yuanzheng accepted responsibility for him, confronted Li Zong, and repeatedly offered to handle any retaliation aimed at his disciple. 22 24 40
His loyalty also made him tolerant of those close to him. He recognized Wang Gengyuan's opportunism and Yan Jun's materialism, but still urged Su Ti to treat his senior brothers with patience. 56 This protectiveness extended to the Dragon Gate itself: he endured its decline and delayed revenge against the Silver Ring Gate because preserving the lineage mattered more to him than satisfying his hatred. 60
Abilities & Skills
Ancient Martial Arts Mastery
Long Yuanzheng was an Extraordinary Realm martial artist whose normal combat ability already exceeded that of most Perfected Circle Realm practitioners. 52 57
- Easily neutralized Su Ti's full Dragon Shape Comprehensive Fist assault shortly after Su Ti reached the Tongli Stage. 20 21
- Could assess flaws in technique immediately, identifying Su Ti's excessive rigidity and the danger it posed to his own body. 20
- His killing intent alone caused Li Zong and the Death Fist Society's leaders to react with fear. 24
- Even when Su Ti attained the Perfected Circle Realm, Long Yuanzheng remained substantially stronger in raw strength, physique, speed, and thought. 51
Golden Snake Molting
The Dragon Gate's inner-refinement method trains the internal organs and serves as the foundation for advancement beyond the Tongli Stage. 22
- Long Yuanzheng personally taught Su Ti its forms, force application, and principles. 22
- He emphasized inner refinement as the basis of a martial artist's long-term development. 26 31
- The method's cultivation is biased rather than fully balanced, unlike the Bodhisattva Practice. 51 55
Golden Python Four Forms
The Dragon Gate's true combat inheritance consists of the Golden Python Fist's four forms. Long Yuanzheng taught it to Su Ti before the latter's death match with Demon Mountain. 25
- Scaled Python Armor — contracts and mobilizes the body for formidable physical defense; Long Yuanzheng smashed through a large rockery without suffering visible injury. 25
- Violent Python Roar — exhales concentrated qi as a destructive ranged attack; in normal practice, it severed a thigh-thick tree trunk. 25
- In his transformed state, its roar could pulverize nearby grass and force opponents to retreat from its range. 76
Golden Python Transformation Dragon Technique
The Dragon Gate's Limit-Breaking Martial Art temporarily drives the body beyond normal human limits. Its complete cultivation requires the flesh and blood of a Mixed Gold Python as a medicinal guide. 52
- Long Yuanzheng's signature skill; it enlarged his body, amplified his strength and defense, and gave his eyes a golden hue. 29 63
- The technique allowed him to overpower Li Zong directly in their first clash. 76
- Its inheritance was incomplete because the required medicinal primer had been scarce for generations; Long Yuanzheng searched for it for ten years without success. 60 76
Copper Skin Skill
Long Yuanzheng had cultivated the Copper Skin Skill to perfection, granting him highly resilient skin and flesh. 76
- His defense allowed him to endure severe impacts that would incapacitate ordinary martial artists. 25
- It was not sufficient to safely withstand the Silver Ring Gate's high-frequency soft swords at his vital points. 76
Mo Gu
Long Yuanzheng used Mo Gu (“bone feeling”) to assess a disciple's root bone and martial arts potential through specialized grasping and kneading techniques. 21
- He evaluated Su Ti's arms, spine, calves, and other bones after their spar. 21
- The assessment revealed a contradiction between Su Ti's exceptional comprehension and his poor natural bone structure. 30
Relationships
- Su Ti — Fourth disciple. Long Yuanzheng accepted him after witnessing his self-created Dragon Shape Comprehensive Fist, trained him in the Dragon Gate's core arts, protected him from Li Zong, and came to view him as the Dragon Gate's successor. 21 22 25 51
- Yao Juan — Eldest disciple and resident instructor of Dragon Gate Martial Hall. She introduced Su Ti to Long Yuanzheng and remained one of Long's most trusted disciples. 7 21
- Wang Gengyuan — Second disciple. Their relationship was partly strategic, as Wang's family helped Long Yuanzheng establish a foothold in Mingguang City. 21 56
- Yan Jun — Third disciple and Long Yuanzheng's adopted son. Long remained protective of him despite recognizing his utilitarian nature; he later expelled Yan Jun for dishonoring the Dragon Gate during a hall challenge. 32 56 59
- Uncle Liang — Dragon Gate's Inheritance Elder and a Perfected Circle Realm master. Liang had watched Long Yuanzheng grow up and died trying to buy him time during the assault on the villa. 30 76
- Long Yuansheng — Elder brother and founder of the Southern Saint Sect. His disappearance left Long Yuanzheng with the burden of preserving the Dragon Gate. 60 76
- Long Yuanwang — Junior brother. His poisoning and assassination by Qin Huan became one of Long Yuanzheng's deepest grievances. 60 61
- Li Zong — President of the Death Fist Society and enemy. Long Yuanzheng confronted him to protect Su Ti, later fighting him during the final siege. 24 29 76
- Qin Huan — Deputy Gate Master of the Silver Ring Gate and murderer of Long Yuanwang. Long Yuanzheng's hatred for him was immediate and intense. 60 61
History
Taking Su Ti as a Disciple
Yao Juan brought Su Ti to meet Long Yuanzheng after Su Ti mastered the Dragon Shape Five Forms and created the Dragon Shape Comprehensive Fist in less than a week. Long Yuanzheng tested him personally, effortlessly withstanding his attacks while recognizing both his courage and unusual combat talent. 20 21
After testing Su Ti's bones with Mo Gu, Long Yuanzheng accepted him as his fourth disciple through a simplified tea ceremony. He then formally assumed responsibility for the fallout from Su Ti's killing of Li Mingyuan. 21 22
Long Yuanzheng trained Su Ti in Golden Snake Molting, Golden Python Four Forms, external skills, and the Dragon Gate's deeper martial arts knowledge. He also supported Su Ti's decisions to face Demon Mountain and Li Mingsheng in life-and-death matches, even when the risks were severe. 22 25 31 56
Conflict with the Silver Ring Gate
At Su Ti's Apprentice Acceptance Banquet, Long Yuanzheng revealed the Dragon Gate's history and the destruction of the Southern Saint Sect. His resentment toward the Silver Ring Gate erupted when Qin Huan arrived uninvited and attempted to pressure the Dragon Gate into an alliance. 60 61
When Qin Huan intervened in Su Ti's fight with Li Jianxing using the Silver Dragon Sword Art, Long Yuanzheng entered his transformed state to protect his disciple and force the Silver Ring Gate to withdraw. 62 63
Death
Long Yuanzheng anticipated the coming attack and arranged for Yao Juan to leave Nanjiang Province before the Dragon Gate villa was surrounded by the Death Fist Society and the Silver Ring Gate. 76
He fought alone against Li Zong and three extraordinary masters of the Silver Ring Gate while Uncle Liang was overwhelmed by six Perfected Circle Realm opponents. His enemies exploited their knowledge of the Dragon Gate's techniques, poisoned him with the Black Death Fist and Silver Ring Gate sword poison, and eventually pinned him down with armor-piercing arrows. 76
As he died, Long Yuanzheng regretted failing to avenge the Dragon Gate's dead, complete the Golden Python Transformation Dragon Technique, and remain alive to guide Yao Juan and Su Ti. 76
Legacy
Long Yuanzheng's death became the direct cause of Su Ti's campaign against the Death Fist Society and the Silver Ring Gate. 77 81
Su Ti and Yao Juan later cremated and buried Long Yuanzheng alongside Uncle Liang. 89 Su Ti subsequently sought to reclaim the former Southern Saint Sect, fulfilling Long Yuanzheng's wish to preserve and restore the Dragon Gate's legacy. 90 97
