"Mad scientist, right?"
Howard did not take something like that to heart at all. He immediately turned back and patted Rorschach on the shoulder.
Signaling him to keep moving.
"Mr. Stark, are you as crazy as he is?"
Rorschach started walking, heading forward alongside Howard.
"No, I'm an exception. I'm one of the world's rare geniuses. There's no need for me to be that crazy."
Howard Stark was being smug, no less so than Tony Stark.
The two of them traded nonsense now and then as they entered the lobby of the office building. A refined-looking young man came over to greet them.
"Mr. Stark, you're back."
The voice was so familiar that Rorschach recognized it before he recognized the face.
"Jarvis, take Mr. Rorschach to Room 218 first," Howard Stark instructed Jarvis.
"Rorschach, wait for me a moment. Excuse me for a bit."
Howard Stark then greeted Rorschach again before getting up and leaving first.
"Mr. Rorschach, I am Mr. Stark's butler, Jarvis. Please follow me," Jarvis said politely.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
After leading Rorschach to a place resembling a conference room, Jarvis politely excused himself.
Rorschach, however, fell into thought.
His unexpected encounter with Arnim Zola just now had made Rorschach think of something else.
The place Arnim Zola had emerged from seemed to be the very place where Iron Man went to steal the Cube in Avengers: Endgame!
In other words, the Cube was currently sitting safely less than a few hundred meters away from Rorschach.
Was he tempted?
Of course he was, a little.
As a transmigrator, Rorschach knew full well just how absurdly powerful the Cube was. Naturally, he could not remain indifferent.
The power contained within the Cube was enough to change the world.
Of course, Rorschach was not some ambitious man who wanted to use the Cube to rule the world or dominate Earth. It was simply that he had come up with a very crazy, bold plan lately.
The Cube might very well play a huge role in that plan.
Of course, for now, Rorschach was merely a mutant beginning to make a name for himself. He was far from being at that level, and any plan could only be put on hold for the time being.
As his thoughts wandered, Howard Stark, who had gone back to change clothes, arrived before Rorschach.
Peggy Carter had actually come with him.
To be honest, Rorschach found that quite unexpected.
Peggy Carter was also one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s founders. Did a routine inquiry really need to involve two founders?
Were S.H.I.E.L.D.'s founders really so idle they had nothing better to do?
"Rorschach, you've already met Agent Carter, so I won't make any further introductions."
Howard Stark sat down directly across from Rorschach, his attitude very mild. "And this is only a routine interview, so don't be nervous, okay?"
"Mr. Stark, please ask."
"Rorschach, why were you at that tavern?"
"My friend is a regular at that tavern. My friend brought me there."
"Before you went, did you know that I was at that tavern too?"
"No."
Howard Stark had been right. This was merely a routine inquiry, and there was nothing suspicious about it, so it went very smoothly.
There was nothing worth mentioning.
It ended quickly.
"Rorschach, may I ask how you managed to kill a werewolf with one punch? According to the intelligence we have, that would require a punch with at least five tons of force."
"An ordinary person could not possess such tremendous strength unless... you underwent enhancement like Rogers!"
Peggy Carter, who had not said a word until then, finally spoke with a stern expression, opening with a barrage of deadly questions.
"Where were you enhanced? Tell me!"
"Agent Carter, I think you've misunderstood. I'm not an enhanced human. I've never undergone any enhancement," Rorschach said helplessly.
"No enhancement? Then you're telling me that such incredible strength is inborn, that you're naturally gifted?" Peggy Carter could not help sneering.
Only a ghost would believe that excuse.
"That's right. That's exactly how it is." Rorschach spread his hands.
"Rorschach, I hope you understand that we are not some police force or organization like the CIA. We aren't so easy to fool," Peggy Carter said more sternly.
"So, Mr. Stark, am I a criminal now?" Rorschach glanced at Howard Stark.
After being put through that by Peggy Carter, Rorschach was gradually becoming annoyed as well.
"Of course not."
Howard Stark hurriedly clarified, "Rorschach, don't misunderstand. That's just the kind of person Agent Carter is."
Howard Stark could actually understand why Carter was acting that way.
Back then, Captain America had secretly left behind several vials of his serum as a precaution, and he had even left one vial for Howard Stark.
Of course, Howard Stark had ultimately given that vial to Peggy Carter, who had poured it into water and destroyed it.
But some serum had still found its way out.
So Peggy Carter naturally believed that Rorschach had been replicated by some secret organization researching Captain America's serum.
Naturally, she would not have a very good attitude toward him.
"Since I'm not, then Mr. Stark, I have things to do. May I leave now?" Rorschach stood up directly.
"You still haven't explained yourself!" Peggy Carter stood up as well.
Rorschach simply ignored her and only looked at Howard Stark.
"Peggy, a word."
Howard Stark hurriedly pulled Peggy Carter aside and quietly tried to persuade her.
Rorschach had not done anything illegal from beginning to end. He had even saved Howard.
Not to mention that this was all baseless speculation, but even if Rorschach really had used Rogers's serum, so what?
There was nothing to criticize him for.
Peggy Carter was also a rational, mature adult capable of controlling her emotions well.
Under Howard Stark's persuasion, Peggy Carter did not continue pressing the matter. After glancing at Rorschach, she turned and left.
But Rorschach knew that Peggy Carter definitely would not let the matter rest.
That old woman would certainly continue investigating in secret.
But Rorschach did not take it to heart. Mutants would soon be "exposed" anyway, so he was not afraid of being investigated.
"Okay, Rorschach, thank you for your time!"
Howard Stark walked up to Rorschach and shook his hand. "I'll have Jarvis take you back. Also, when you have time, come to my house for a simple meal. I'd really like to express my gratitude properly in private."
"Of course!"
Rorschach gladly agreed.
Visiting Howard Stark's home sounded pretty nice, after all.
"Also, werewolves are usually organized and operate in groups. You killed three werewolves today, but this definitely isn't just about three werewolves."
"If you run into any trouble, you know my number."
Howard Stark added seriously.
"I will!"
Rorschach waved his hand.
