The shattered earth was like a face twisted in agony, blood tears spilling out like rivers, flowing unchecked across the broken land and pouring into the sea.
Overhead, an eclipse that would never vanish again hung high, like a gate to another world, and also like the mouth of a smelting furnace. Blinding red kept surging out of it, impossible to tell whether it was flame or blood.
The eclipse hung high in the firmament. The sky along the horizon had been dyed with bloodlike rosy light, yet the closer it came to the zenith, the thicker that dazzling crimson became, until finally, it was darker than night.

Before she could react, bloodstained brambles covered in sharp thorns pierced through the ground.
