The mechanical repair room was brightly lit, the screen in front of 2003 glowing as the source of the light.
The heavily modified transport vehicle stood in the middle. Yang Jinxia stood beside it, controlling the excavator as it loaded various items onto the vehicle.
"Xia Jinse!"
An angry shout came from the doorway.
Yang Jinxia turned around and saw Chen Xu striding in aggressively. There was not the slightest fear on her face; she even smiled. "You're awake. I was just about to have 2003 call you. Perfect timing—the supplies will be loaded soon, and we can set off right away."
Chen Xu walked toward her step by step. His exoskeleton support legs clinked against the floor, the sound carrying an oppressive weight through the silence.
Yang Jinxia seemed unable to feel the tense atmosphere. She still wore a smile, her gaze unchanged, and said softly, "I know you must be angry. You can hit me, scold me, vent however you want. I just want you to know that everything I did was for our future. Even if not for ourselves, we should at least think about our child..."
He stopped a step away from her, stared into her eyes, and cut her off. "Do you think you've got me figured out? You think you understand my personality, that as long as you create a fait accompli, I'll definitely compromise. Is that it?"
