S01 walked up to the console and said, "The shelter is entering Level One Combat Readiness. Set the power output to maximum and activate the Defense System."
All at once, the Control Center darkened, and a holographic image appeared before S01.
Chen Xu recognized it at a glance as the shelter's structural map. Not far away, a cluster of flashing red dots was approaching.
"The Acid Ant Beasts will reach the first Defense Perimeter in forty minutes," S01 said. One of the circular rings on the holographic image lit up, marking the location of the wall.
"One hundred and sixty Miniature Electromagnetic Cannons are deployed there."
As S01 explained, small dots lit up along the circular ring.
Chen Xu asked, "Can you control those electromagnetic cannons remotely?"
S01 replied, "No. Those electromagnetic cannons must be operated manually."
It seemed this game really offered no loopholes to exploit. There definitely weren't any large-scale killing weapons either.
Chen Xu could only abandon his fantasies and consider the situation seriously.
Looking at the holographic image, he shook his head and said, "The wall is too long. Even counting you and 2003, there are only four of us. Even if each of us operates one, we can't defend such a large area. As long as the mutant beasts spread out, they can easily circle behind us and surround us instead."
With four against five hundred, the only option was to defend a strategic position. The wall was not a good choice.
His gaze fell on the hundreds of small dots inside the wall. "What are these?"
"This is the second line of defense. Three hundred and sixty Weapon Platforms are deployed here, each equipped with High-Energy Laser Guns." As S01 spoke, the holographic image rotated and enlarged, displaying the detailed structure of those dots.
