Background / History

The Great Sun Emperor Sect is one of the six great Old Emperor Grade powers of the Central Continent. Such powers are ancient sects that once produced a Great Emperor; their foundations remain formidable even in eras of decline. The sect is classified more strictly as a top-tier Sect Master Grade power unless it possesses a Quasi-Emperor, since “Old Emperor Grade” is a self-applied title not recognized by foreign races. 313

Its founder, the Flame Emperor, created the sect’s foremost Sect Master Grade technique, the Great Sun Sacred Canon, approximately 800,000 years earlier. The canon can condense 365 Mana Stars, each several times larger than the Mana Stars produced by the Heavenly Elephant Sacred Canon. 313

The Sun Sect of Yangzhou is one of the Great Sun Emperor Sect’s branch sects. Through this connection, the Sun Sect can recommend qualified cultivators for true-disciple status at the Central Continent headquarters. 312 313

Nine Peaks

The Great Sun Emperor Sect is organized around nine peaks. The Ninth Peak houses disciples transferred from branch sects and recruited rogue cultivators; despite being considered the weakest peak, it surpasses the Sun Sect in strength. At the time of Li Changsheng’s entry, it had three Supreme Saints, six Half-step Saint Realm experts, dozens of Great Sages, and numerous Martial Saint disciples.
