Austin defeated Kaido, left Wano, and traveled eight hundred years into the past before returning to the present and resuming his work with Vegapunk. As the Straw Hats began their journey, Austin reunited with Buggy and set events moving toward their meeting on the Grand Line.

• Austin defeated Kaido in a clash that devastated the Flower Capital, then left Wano with Shinobu after refusing to claim he was its savior.
• Austin returned to Vegapunk’s laboratory, entrusted the Shichibukai with responsibilities, and traveled to the era eight hundred years earlier.
• Austin met Nefertari D. Lily and joined the gathering of the Twenty Kings, while Ace later fought Jinbe, joined Whitebeard’s crew, and befriended Yamato.
• Kuma protected Vegapunk’s secret research for Austin, and Vegapunk developed a Seraphim Nika that could become a rubber man but could not yet use Nika’s true power.
• After Joy Boy’s Conqueror’s Haki overwhelmed the kings, Austin appeared in the East Blue, recovered aboard Alvida’s ship, and later returned to Vegapunk’s laboratory.
• Luffy recruited Zoro and Nami, while Austin recovered, learned of Crocodile’s transformation, and tracked down Buggy in Cocoyasi Village.
• Austin reunited with Buggy, praised his orange juice, and left him with a warning to keep his promise when they met again on the Grand Line.
• Mihawk split Krieg’s fleet, and Zoro challenged him, declaring his ambition and recalling his promise to Austin.

Austin and Mihawk parted ways as Austin set out to witness the new era, while the Straw Hat Pirates faced Crocodile’s plot in Alabasta. Luffy defeated Crocodile, Austin brought rain that helped end the fighting, and Smoker confronted a mysterious figure beside the captured Crocodile.

• Mihawk defeated Zoro at Baratie, spared him, and accepted Austin’s invitation to travel together before they parted in Loguetown.
• Austin and Mihawk visited Loguetown, where Austin declared he would destroy the town, Mihawk injured Smoker, and lightning saved Luffy from Buggy’s execution.
• Austin protected Nami’s crew with Seagull King and left with Mihawk to travel the Grand Line, while the Five Elders ordered CP0 to investigate his secret research.
• Austin chose Mihawk to help deter CP0 and later took the false identity Hades to approach Teach, joining the Blackbeard Pirates after a three-day fight.
• In Alabasta, Crocodile defeated Luffy and pursued Pluton, while Austin watched events unfold and Crocodile claimed she would use his wealth and influence to build a military nation.
• Vivi pleaded with Austin to save Alabasta, and Luffy defeated Crocodile before declaring he would fight Austin if Austin harmed his friends or another country.
• Austin summoned rain and left after calling Vivi the future queen, while the revelation that Mr. 2 had impersonated the King ended the battle between the rebels and royal army.
• Smoker defied the World Government’s order to free Crocodile, then faced a tall figure who appeared beside her.

Austin returned to Sabaody and made the arriving Supernovas face his overwhelming power while the Straw Hats entered the island’s turmoil. The arc left Luffy’s crew heading to Area 23 as Austin challenged Hawkins and Drake.

• Austin returned to Sabaody, where Sammy prepared a celebration, and he met Rayleigh and Shakky after recounting his time with the Rocks Pirates.
• Hades defeated Ace and delivered him to Teach, while Kuma sent Perona to her island and later overwhelmed the Straw Hats at Thriller Bark before they escaped.
• Austin confronted the Straw Hats on Sabaody and challenged them to come to Area 23, then stopped Kid, Apoo, and their crews with his power.
• Luffy punched Charlos after he tried to buy Camie, and Austin agreed to handle the incident as the Marines prepared to respond.
• Austin defeated Kid and several other Supernovas, recruited Hawkins, and captured Bonney and Bege after Bonney attacked him over Kuma.
• Rayleigh helped the Straw Hats escape the auction house and told them that Austin had sailed with Roger, might surpass him, and possessed an Eternal Pointer to Laugh Tale.
• Luffy refused to hear Rayleigh’s account of One Piece, and the Straw Hats left for Area 23 as Austin fought Urouge and challenged Hawkins and Drake.

Austin captured the Supernovas, scattered the Straw Hat Crew, and became entangled in the upheaval surrounding Ace’s execution. As Marineford’s war escalated and the World Government declared Austin an enemy, Luffy freed Ace while Austin redirected Kaido and Sakazuki toward the harbor.

• Austin defeated Drake, captured Hawkins and Law, and confronted three groups of Straw Hats with his clones before sending the crew to distant places and bringing their injured leaders to Rayleigh.
• Austin assigned the captured Supernovas work to repay their damage, then traveled to Nine Snake Island, where Hancock revealed her reverence for him and spent the night with him.
• Luffy escaped into Impel Down, joined the jailbreak, and freed Crocodile, while Blackbeard’s crew entered the prison and Hades helped them evade Magellan.
• At Marineford, Sengoku revealed Ace’s lineage, Whitebeard’s fleet arrived, and Austin refused to choose a side as the battle began.
• Austin subdued Marco, encouraged Buggy to broadcast the war, and later destroyed the Marines’ encirclement walls before the World Government ordered Sengoku to treat him as an enemy.
• Kaido joined the battle, Luffy advanced toward the execution platform, and Austin stopped Kizaru from intercepting him as he waited for more arrivals.
• Luffy and Third Brother freed Ace from his seastone handcuffs, and Austin used Warp Kick to send Kaido and Sakazuki toward the harbor where the Blackbeard Pirates appeared to be under pursuit.
