After arriving at the training ground, Mu Yue and Might Duy greeted Hiruzen Sarutobi, who was admiring the scenery.
Hiruzen Sarutobi turned around, saw the two of them, and smiled.
"Duy, I vaguely remember that you were the most diligent person when it came to training the Eight Gates. It seems your hard work has finally borne fruit."
As he spoke, Hiruzen Sarutobi stroked the small beard on his chin. His smile was kind, like that of an ordinary old man delighted to see a younger generation rewarded for their efforts.
"Lord Third Hokage, I didn't expect you to still remember me." Might Duy had not expected Hiruzen Sarutobi to remember that time. He had thought the Third Hokage only remembered him as the eternal genin.
"Haha, I wasn't Hokage yet at the time, but I was already studying hard under Tobirama-sensei. How could I forget someone as distinctive as you, Duy?" Hiruzen Sarutobi said with a laugh.
That was not entirely just to win favor. He truly remembered Might Duy, since both his appearance and mannerisms differed somewhat from ordinary people.
"Hahahaha, thank you for your support!" Might Duy raised a thumbs-up, laughing as he flashed two rows of pearly white teeth.
Mu Yue had to admit that high status really came with plenty of benefits. Hiruzen Sarutobi's position meant it was easy for him to win people over. Other than transmigrators like himself, few people in Konoha could resist the Hokage taking the initiative to be friendly with them.
"I heard of the Eight Gates' power from Tobirama-sensei long ago, but unfortunately, I never had the chance to witness it firsthand. I wonder if you can fulfill that regret of mine today, Duy."
After habitually building a little goodwill, Hiruzen Sarutobi got down to business.
