Opening the storybook, he indeed found no setting for the sprawling mountain range before him among the settings that had already been finalized.
Qin Yang was not surprised. He was almost used to exploring maps by now.
Seeing those mountains constantly shifting and writhing as though alive, his first thought was not that the mountains had come alive, but that this damn map was still loading.
Now, it seemed that was indeed the case.
Among the settings that had yet to be finalized, everything was constantly changing. Even among the settings that had stopped changing but had not yet been fixed in place, he could find nothing that matched these mountains.
Qin Yang searched twice and still found nothing, so he could only give up for the time being.
In any case, he absolutely could not take out the storybook. Once he did, there would be no way to add anything further to those settings that had stopped changing but had yet to be finalized.
Squatting at the edge, Qin Yang patiently waited for several days, observing constantly, summarizing patterns, and trying to discover the rules himself without using the storybook.
Several days later, when he once again saw a ghostly shadow flash across one of the mountains, Qin Yang used his pen to make a record in the Little Notebook.
"This is the seventeenth time. It definitely isn't an illusion. Something got here before I did.
"Or perhaps it is a native Dead Spirit born from this place."
Qin Yang marked out those two possibilities. After considering them again and again, however, he felt that neither was likely.
The map was still loading. It could not possibly have bred native Dead Spirits so quickly.
This world was not evolving that fast.
