"Kevin, are you alright?"
As the planner of the operation, Kevin's face was pale, his eyes bulging with a dark red trail of bloody tears, veins bulging on his forehead, as if he was enduring intense pain in his eyes.
The might of heaven's will, enlightening all beings!
If the Apocalypse could grant him a learning ability akin to a god's, even if only briefly, could it also bestow an omniscient, all-encompassing vision?
After receiving an affirmative answer from the Light Orb, this rescue plan had already taken shape in his mind.
Using himself as bait to draw the attention of the U.S.S. members and pinpoint their exact hiding spots.
Then, with Ada, Jill, Barry, and the others getting off mid-route, they would begin a covert infiltration, taking out the "Cleaners" of the Umbrella Squad.
When everything was ready, waves of black Bio-energy surged, and his eye muscles and nerve perception were pushed to their limits, allowing him to see everything within a 500-meter radius at a glance.
But that six-minute sweep rapidly drained his Mental Power from 11 points down to 5, and the dizziness in his head grew worse with each passing moment.
Still, judging by the gunfire, his side had already secured victory.
Then, Kevin heard the sound of the Matt siblings pushing open the car door and scrambling into the back seat. He let out a relieved breath, expelling the stale air from his lungs.
First step, won!
"Retreat! Meeting Point in 10 minutes!"
Kevin leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes to rest, while issuing orders through the earpiece kindly sponsored by shopkeeper Robert.
On the second-floor balcony, Ada elegantly popped two mint candies into her mouth, picked up the SWS, and with one shot, severely wounded the assault soldier stubbornly resisting behind the wall.
Then, she shifted her aim and fired consecutive shots, forcing the squad commander Hank, who was locked in combat with Barry, to dodge left and right and flee using obstacles as cover.
Having fully disengaged, Jill and Barry immediately turned and vanished into the distance.
Everything was going smoothly—until the sharp clang of bullets striking the left-side car door made Kevin's eyelid twitch.
Based on the direction, it was almost certainly some vengeful female agent, taking petty revenge for his earlier blunder that had nearly capsized their plan.
"The fish has slipped the hook. Prepare to intercept. Target: Black SUV, license plate: XXXXX!"
Hiding behind a bush, Hank calmly bandaged his bullet-pierced shoulder while opening his radio to relay information to his waiting superiors.
"Also, this prey is troublesome. Request permission to kill on sight."
Finally, after a moment of pondering, the man added a cautious supplement.
Second update, the layout begins.
Chapter 18: This Move, Truly Unique!
Ten minutes later, at the Meeting Point, a mountain hollow.
The Black SUV pulled over to the side of the road. A somewhat weakened Kevin stepped out, flanked by Matt and his sister Lisa, their faces filled with the relief of having narrowly escaped death.
Close behind, Jill, Barry, and the female agent Ada drove two police cars marked with RPD insignias, bursting out of the woods to rendezvous with Kevin's group.
At Kevin's signal, former S.T.A.R.S. survivors Barry and Jill, carrying bulging backpacks, each took one of the Matt siblings and led them into the dense forest behind.
Kevin took off his shirt, opened the trunk, and pulled out a police uniform to put on.
Though not particularly burly by European or American standards, the boy's physique was well-proportioned and exuded strength, with even the faint outline of abs visible on his stomach.
As for the female agent Ada, she grabbed a set of female police attire and slipped into the police car, beginning to change with evident interest.
A moment later, five freshly minted RPD Officers split into two police cars and switched on the Dispatch Channel, listening in on the activity.
"Attention all officers on duty: A black SUV with license plate XXXXX requires immediate interception. The suspects are armed. Permission to shoot on sight!"
After waiting less than three minutes, the four of them listened to the Dispatch Channel's announcement, then turned their heads with odd expressions, staring blankly at the guy frantically chugging Glucose Syrup to stave off hunger.
Kevin wiped the residue from his lips and awkwardly raised the half-empty bottle of Glucose Syrup. "Want some?"
But before the dawdler could respond, Ada grabbed him and yanked him into the passenger seat.
"Leon, I'm counting on you!" Kevin rolled down the window and waved at the sole remaining driver of the Black SUV, his face full of encouragement.
"Is this plan really okay?" The rookie officer, though green, wasn't stupid. He instinctively sensed the scent of conspiracy and danger, and in his doubt, felt an urge to jump out of the car.
Kevin made an "OK" gesture, finally convincing the wavering Leon to get in the car, and watched as the Black SUV, laden with sin, sped off in a cloud of dust.
Then, the two police cars turned on their sirens and began the chase.
"How did you know the U.S.S. would use RPD's forces for a full-scale interception after their first failed ambush?" the female driver Ada asked, her tone neutral.
Kevin tapped his head and replied casually, "Guessed it..."
Such a dismissive answer clearly didn't satisfy Ada.
But their relationship hadn't reached a point where they could speak freely about everything, so the female agent gave up on her fruitless questioning, offered a restrained smile, and floored the accelerator.
Clearly, women were vengeful and petty creatures—especially smart and beautiful ones!
Noticing the scenery blurring past and the needle on the dashboard climbing wildly, Kevin helplessly raised his hands in surrender.
"Use your brain! Ah... Sister Wang!"
"We're the bandits who nearly wiped out an elite U.S.S. squad. This close to Raccoon City, to round up such vicious criminals, they'd need massive manpower support!"
"But Umbrella just finished their quarantine work, effectively seizing power from the military and police for a while. That already planted some seeds of conflict."
"Even if their backing is huge, mobilizing other U.S.S. units to fight us in the city would be like repeatedly slapping the RPD in the face and grinding it against the concrete!"
"So there were already people inside the RPD who hated those mad dogs from the Umbrella Corporation. Otherwise, those two patrol cars on the roster wouldn't have been enough with just Barry and Jill's pull."
"Besides, the U.S.S. is an elite Special Forces unit, not suited for large-scale interception operations, and mobilizing the military is too sensitive."
"To sum it up, the Umbrella Corporation's best option is undoubtedly to use the RPD's power to serve their purposes."
"Don't forget, with Director Alons in charge, we arrested suspects will definitely be transferred from prison to the Umbrella Corporation."
"So..."
"So you sold out that Little Rookie up ahead to draw the RPD's attention?" Ada raised a delicate eyebrow, her words laced with sarcasm.
Kevin leaned back, comfortably settling into his seat, completely ignoring Ada's taunt.
"I'm just an ordinary guy who likes to think. I can't avoid every risk."
Besides... that kid's luck is tougher than anyone here. If things go south, we might all die while he's still bouncing around.
What's more, as long as the plan goes through, the risk of sitting in that Black SUV isn't any greater than being in a police car.
That was Kevin's inner thought, which he didn't voice aloud.
Everyone here was a living, breathing person, so he chose his words carefully.
"Attention, prepare to enter through the Black Gate Bridge. Start splitting up!"
As time passed, the Black Gate Bridge came into view, and the faint wail of police sirens echoed from several branching roads.
Kevin made a snap decision, using the guise of "following orders to take a detour and intercept the fugitives" to quietly slip out of the net of police cars.
Inside the Black SUV, the man known as "Li San Guang" began his personal driving showcase.
Leon's conspicuous vehicle darted through traffic like a nimble eel, weaving left and right, escaping danger time and again.
The exhausted RPD officers cursed loudly over the open channel.
Think about it—that unlucky kid Leon really had a rough fate. On his first day on the job, he ran into a Tyrant in the Acre Mountains and nearly died in the line of duty.
Then, because he got tangled up in the Umbrella Corporation's shady dealings, his report got him suspended and isolated by the police chief. Now, someone had tricked him onto a sinking ship, driving circles around his senior officers.
But clearly, Kevin's conscience wasn't bothering him yet, because he was busy with the next step of the plan.
"Jill, Barry, you two head to the Kendo Gun Shop with the Matt siblings. Lay low for a while and be ready to provide backup at any moment!"
At the fork in the road, Kevin spoke softly into his earpiece, his face serious.
Barry and Jill nodded instinctively without any argument, immediately steering the patrol car into the alley leading to the Kendo Gun Shop.
In the vagrant settlement, using his foreknowledge, he made himself the bait to draw the enemy's attention, then ordered them to take out the well-equipped U.S.S. squad members one by one.
After that, with two pre-prepared patrol cars and a few uniforms, he completed the role reversal of prey and hunter, blending into the police ranks right under their noses and escaping safely.
Such a maneuver was executed to perfection. According to the plan, there was a whole string of unexpected strategies to follow.
If everything went smoothly, not only would each of them escape unscathed, but they could also tear off the Umbrella Corporation's face and grind it into the dirt a hundred times over!
So, subconsciously, Jill and Barry, impressed by this, had unknowingly started treating this seemingly harmless, weak college student as their decision-making center.
Watching Jill and the others fade into the distance, Kevin, who had been lying back in his seat like a corpse, stretched his joints, then turned to the female driver beside him and warmly extended an olive branch.
"Don't worry, I'll make a copy of the data Lisa has and give it to you as payment. Did You think that's a fair deal?"
The female agent turned her head slightly, and once the surprise faded from her eyes, she asked gently.
"So, where are you headed next?"
This sudden upgrade to five-star service made Kevin hear a hint of warmth and sweetness in her tone.
A bit uncomfortable with this, the boy twitched the corner of his mouth and pointed ahead.
"Of course... I'm going to pick up my little angel and take her home!"
The toughest second step was complete!
So, are you ready, dear Umbrella? It's my turn to slap you in the face!

Section 19 Chapter 19 Snack Thief (Second Update)
Raccoon City Elementary School, dismissal time.
Students gathered in twos and threes, boarding the school bus in their own little groups.
Angela, who was usually picked up by a dedicated car, sat in the back of the bus with her new friend Emma.
After confirming the headcount, the school bus slowly pulled out of the gate. Driver Sam leaned back in his seat, swaying his bulky body to the heavy metal music, while his natural Black rapping talent flowed into a smooth, rhythmic chant.
Kinda missing that vegetable soup at home. I'll grab some potatoes and a sandwich on the way back after work tonight.
Just as Sam was pondering the life dilemma of what to eat for dinner, a police car waved them down at a fork up ahead.
A hot Asian chick with a killer body?
Staring at her curvaceous figure, the school bus driver swallowed hard, opened his squinty eyes a bit wider, and opened the door, leaning over to ask the Asian beauty dressed as a Police Woman with eager curiosity.
"What's up, officer?"
An Asian woman stepped onto the bus, carefully inspected the fire extinguishers and emergency exits, then shook her logbook with a polite smile.
"Routine safety check. Also, based on your condition, we suspect you may have used marijuana. Please cooperate."
"Hey hey, officer, I value this job—I'd never touch that stuff!" the black man swore earnestly.
Then, at the policewoman's accusation, he felt utterly wronged.
Wasn't singing, dancing, and rap their racial talent? Why was he being treated like some drugged-out junkie?
It must be this Asian woman who didn't appreciate music! Though the black man looked docile on the surface, he couldn't help but grumble inside.
Soon after, the young mixed-race cop pulled the patrol car to a remote, rundown area and boarded the school bus.
The boy smiled brightly, his voice gentle and soothing, carrying a convincing charm.
After all, with his own kidney pressed against an M1911, how could he not believe it?
The black man's expression shifted, his face crumpling as he prepared to raise his hands, but the male cop subtly stopped Sam's movement.
"Be good, drive forward..."
"Where to?" Sam asked weakly.
Kevin, who already had the driver under control, smiled faintly and replied patiently, "How about a trip out of town?"
What else could he say? The black driver had no rebuttal, obediently steering the school bus onto a different route, not daring to make any small moves.
Relax, relax, just keep them steady!
Once the school bus deviated from its planned path, the GPS system installed inside would immediately relay this information to the command center.
