Dr. Charles accepted the hard drive instinctively. He had wanted to thank him, but he did not know where to begin.
By the time the pure scientist came back to his senses, his student had already gone farther and farther away beneath the sunlight.
Two days later, Kevin was discharged from the hospital.
By then, the Umbrella Squad members, Dr. Charles, the Matt siblings, Leon, Claire, and the others had all boarded flights to Britain one after another.
As for Jill and the others, they had booked flights for the following day so they could hand over their work and remain responsible for protecting their commander.
As the beloved patient of the group, Kevin saw Jill drive up to pick him up the moment he stepped out of the hospital.
"Why is she here too?"
Looking at Alice, who was smiling at her from the back seat, the police woman was somewhat displeased.
Kevin looked a little awkward.
"Uh, Alice and I are both homeless. It wouldn't be convenient to stay at your place, so we wanted to rent a room at a hotel outside..."
Jill's face darkened at his words. Without saying anything, she turned the key and drove toward a hotel near the airport.
With Jill, the local expert, leading the way, the two quickly found a hotel with a good location and reasonable prices, then decided to check in immediately.
By the time night fell, the police woman, who had been running around taking care of everything, dragged her weary body and prepared to head home.
"How's the captain settled in? Seize the chance..."
When she answered the ringing phone, Barry's hearty laughter came through the line, along with his meaningful teasing.
"He's living with that woman. I even carried their luggage upstairs myself..."
"Isn't that humiliating?"
Jill lowered her head, put a cigarette between her lips, and lit it. Just as she was about to take a few puffs to ease her fatigue, she seemed to realize something and promptly stubbed it out.
Barry, the oldest member of the S.T.A.R.S. team, gave a soft laugh on the other end of the line, his tone somewhat surprised.
"Since when could our little police flower say something so dispirited? Are you admitting defeat?"
Jill had been born into an ordinary family. Because of the harsh environment around her, she had even learned little tricks such as lockpicking.
Before joining S.T.A.R.S., Jill had completed the DELTAFORCE bomb disposal training course in the U.S. Army Delta Force and passed with outstanding results.
After improving her combat skills, she was recruited into S.T.A.R.S.
This strong girl had written a remarkable life through her own efforts.
That was why Barry and the others rarely saw discouragement or retreat on this teammate's face.
But the two women she faced were both far too stunning. Repeated failures had actually left her feeling inferior.
That's right! I'm Jill Valentine, the very definition of never giving up at the RPD!
The police woman hung up, her eyes regaining their spark. She casually pushed open the car door and headed toward the hotel where Kevin and Alice were staying.
At the same time, a red figure reeled in her Rope Gun and silently landed on the balcony of a room.
I prepared an interesting script for you. You'll definitely like it, darling...
P.S.: Thank you all for coming to support me. Really, I'll work hard to keep updating. After the first volume ends, there'll be an event you'll definitely be interested in. I'll keep it secret for now.
Also, more surprises are being prepared one after another. Some cities and plotlines were not mentioned in the synopsis, so wait for yourselves to unveil them one by one.
Accept an Adult's Guidance
"Ada, why are you here?"
The female agent who had gracefully landed on the balcony smiled and waved at her commander. Kevin, meanwhile, instinctively became wary of the Vixen's arrival.
"Weren't you invited to Katherine Warren and reporter Ben's engagement ceremony? It shouldn't be over yet. Wouldn't it be inappropriate to leave without permission?"
Ada reeled in her Rope Gun and inserted it into the black holster on her thigh. Then she lifted the hem of her red dress and walked over the steps.
"It's because Commander, you were discharged today. I specially picked out a bottle of French champagne from Mayor Warren's wine cellar, hoping I could make it in time to celebrate for you."
Kevin stepped forward and accepted the exquisitely packaged champagne. When he looked at the label, his hands immediately began to tremble.
"Moët & Chandon," the number one French champagne brand.
In 1743, wine merchant Claude Moet founded his champagne business in the Champagne region. His grandson, Jane-Remy Moet, made the brand famous throughout the world. Because of his deep friendship with Napoleon, the champagne became an instant success and earned the reputation of "Imperial," the royal champagne.
From 1805 to 1841, Moët & Chandon counted Queen Victoria, the Prince of Prussia, the Duke of Cambridge, and many others among its customers, becoming Europe's most famous wine merchant.
In other words, this was the kind of stuff he could not afford to drink. It was damn expensive...
It also had some age to it. It looked like Mayor Warren would be guarding his wine cellar and crying for half the night...
Like the lady of the house, Ada casually took out a pair of tulip-shaped wine glasses from the cabinet. After washing them, she sat down in front of the sofa, skillfully uncorked the bottle, and poured the wine.
As bubbles rose, a rich fragrance spread through the room. The female agent took a small sip first, showing that it was harmless.
"Savor it slowly. By the way, where's the bathroom? Let me use it..."
"I broke into a sweat rushing over here. It feels awful..."
At Ada's casual question, Kevin instinctively pointed out the direction. Only when the rustling sound of clothes being removed came from the bathroom did the commander realize something was wrong.
Since when were the two of us this familiar?
"Hand me the bath towel, thanks..."
Kevin absentmindedly grabbed a neatly folded bath towel and passed it through the patterned glass to Ada's slender arm reaching out from within.
The shadow cast on the wall by the light made it impossible not to let one's imagination run wild.
The commander had originally intended to drive this vixen away, but faced with the fait accompli, he could only let things be.
Since his eyes kept drifting toward the bathroom without meaning to, Kevin simply sat back down on the sofa and carefully savored his champagne.
It tasted good. The flavor of a mouthful of dollars really did suppress the flames rising in his belly.
Just as Kevin was about to pour himself another glass and enjoy it slowly, the doorbell suddenly rang out.
The commander's hand gripping the glass jerked violently, nearly spilling the champagne.
He then crept over to the peephole and took a furtive look, only to discover Alice standing quietly outside the door in a loose bathrobe.
I'm dead!
Kevin nearly went into cardiac arrest. After confirming who it was, he first slapped off the bathroom light, repeatedly warning Ada not to make a sound.
Then, the commander gathered up the female agent's still-warm clothes, stuffed them all into the cabinet, and grabbed a mop to clean up the traces on the balcony and floor.
A moment later, the door slowly opened. Alice looked at the sweating, shifty-eyed young man before her, unable to hide her confusion.
"What, are you hot?"
Before Kevin could stop her, straightforward Alice had already pushed the door open and stepped inside.
"I don't know why, but I always get a little nervous whenever I see you..."
Kevin's half-true answer seemed to dispel Alice's suspicions, and the savior could not help but smile.
"Wait, what's this?"
Kevin had just breathed a sigh of relief when Alice's questioning voice rang in his ears, and his body immediately stiffened.
Could there be something fatal he hadn't hidden properly? Had he been exposed...
"Why is there a bottle of champagne here? And two glasses ready?"
Thank goodness... Kevin stiffly turned his head and racked his brains for an explanation.
"It was a complimentary drink from the front desk after we booked the room. Since you went back early, I was planning to try it by myself..."
Alice did not suspect a thing. She sat down on the sofa, picked up the champagne, poured herself a glass, and sampled it carefully.
However, someone as relatively carefree as the savior did not particularly enjoy champagne's sweet, refreshing taste, so she only took a small sip.
Luckily, she did not know the brand or price of this stuff. Otherwise, it really would have been hard to explain...
Kevin sat down nervously and poured himself a glass as well, so Alice would not notice how unnatural he was acting.
"It's so late. Why aren't you asleep? Is something wrong?"
"Didn't I say I'd keep my promise and be your girlfriend for three days? What, are you scared?"
The savior blinked her emerald-green eyes, her smile teasing.
Whenever she was with Kevin, she always instinctively treated this young man like the boy next door who loved clinging to his older sister, and she could not help teasing him.
"Isn't this a little too fast? It wouldn't be fair to you. Feelings need time to develop..."
His reserved yet earnest words amused Alice greatly, and the corners of her lips lifted unconsciously.
However, seeing the boy grow increasingly flustered, Alice finally set down her glass with a soft laugh, her expression turning serious.
"All right, I'll stop teasing you. Let's talk business."
"I've already learned the general situation at The Hive. Obviously, I'm about to lose my job, and now you're the only one who can take me in..."
"Because..."
Alice pulled the wedding ring from the ring finger of her left hand and casually tossed it onto the table.
"...I've lost my memory..."
Kevin's eye twitched, his face full of disbelief. How had this kind of melodramatic plot fallen on him?
Seeing his reaction, Alice immediately realized Kevin had misunderstood her. She could only helplessly tap her head and continue explaining.
"I mean, for some reason, the memories from my first twenty years are completely blank in my mind, as though I'd never lived at all..."
"As for what came after, of course I remember you playing the hero and saving the damsel..."
Kevin suddenly understood, though a trace of sorrow showed in his eyes.
The reason this savior had discovered that her first twenty years of memories were blank was very simple.
She was a clone cultivated and created using the daughter of an Umbrella founder as a genetic template. (Biohazard Crisis 6 movie plot)
She had followed the will in her heart and fought for humanity, never realizing that even she was nothing more than a special disposable commodity.
"It's all right. We can slowly search for the answers..."
"Besides, the past isn't the most important thing. Isn't it good enough to live in the present?"
Kevin's reassurance immediately swept away the gloom in Alice's eyes. Her previously confused heart felt much lighter.
"That's right, and now..."
Alice clapped her hands and stood up, then suddenly pressed Kevin down onto the sofa, a wild smile curling across her lips.
"Now then, it's the grown-up's turn to enlighten you, Kiddo!"
As Kevin stood there stunned, something soft as jelly touched his forehead.
"That's just the interest on the promise. If you want more, earn it yourself..."
The Savior rose and returned to her seat. That frank smile, carrying a hint of bad-girl charm, was especially captivating.
"Bang!" The sudden noise immediately interrupted Kevin's reminiscing. Alice's wary gaze instantly shot toward the source.
I'm done for! Despair appeared in the commander's eyes as he looked toward where the sound had come from.
Because that was the bathroom where Ada was!

"I'll go take a look!"
Kevin immediately calmed Alice, whose gaze had turned sharp, then casually stepped forward and pushed the bathroom door open a crack as though nothing had happened.
"It's nothing, it's nothing. The body wash just fell over..."
The commander bent down to pick up the body wash from the floor, then placed it on the shelf, the entire process smooth and effortless.
Even Ada, standing across from the bathtub with her arms folded over her chest and nearly half-naked, failed to draw even the slightest change in his expression.
