Personality

THE OTHER is cunning, distrustful, and deeply self-serving. Though connected to Thanos, he never genuinely supported Thanos's plan to erase half of all life, since he himself could become one of the victims. He therefore sought an alternative path through an alliance with Ego. 151

He trusts neither ally nor enemy. Even while cooperating with Ego, he secretly uses the Mind Stone against Wang Yan rather than relying on Ego's strength. 152 When defeated, his composure collapses into panic, threats, and vindictive attempts to ensure Wang Yan's downfall. 152 153

Mechanical Augmentation

Story Role / Major Arcs

Conspiracy with Ego

THE OTHER and Ego operate from a secret underground room in New Washington, where they work before a cluster of gray, brain-like light spheres. Wang Yan discovers them and immediately identifies their alliance. 151

When Wang Yan appears, THE OTHER initially assumes him to be an ordinary Midgardian with a few unusual tricks. He attacks directly, only for his punch to pass harmlessly through Wang Yan. 151 152

Mind Stone Betrayal

After Wang Yan immobilizes and severely injures him, THE OTHER reveals that his attack concealed the Mind Stone. He attempts to use it to mentally subdue Wang Yan, without regard for Ego's claim to the Stone. 152

Wang Yan remains conscious, destroys the Mind Stone, and places Ego under his control. Ego then assaults THE OTHER, whose betrayal has eliminated any remaining trust between the two conspirators. 152

Nuclear Retaliation and Death

While being beaten by Ego, THE OTHER reveals that he had already manipulated rebel leaders into launching every nuclear weapon on Earth, hoping to destroy the planet and spite Wang Yan. 153

Wang Yan states that he had already calculated this action as part of his broader strategy. With THE OTHER and Ego's human forms no longer useful, Wang Yan uses time-based power to turn both conspirators into blood mist on a wall. 153
