Knowhere.
It was a region shrouded in hazy nebulae, like a gigantic celestial body wrapped in mist, shaped like an enormous head.
There had once been rumors that this head-like Knowhere had originally been the head of some ancient Kami.
But they were only rumors. No one had been able to verify them.
In Knowhere, at a space base located in one corner that held transit nodes capable of reaching all parts of the universe, the Guardians of the Galaxy had gathered in a circle and begun arguing.
The captain of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Star-Lord—Peter Quill—had been born in late 1980. When Peter was young, his mother died of a serious illness, and the space pirate Yondu took him away from Earth. From then on, he lived in space and became a space pirate. Later, he left the space pirate crew and struck out on his own.
During his adventures in space, he encountered trustworthy companions. He, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot formed the Guardians of the Galaxy and fought Ronan the Accuser together. During that battle, he distracted Ronan with dancing, then used the Power Stone alongside Gamora, Drax, and Rocket Raccoon to shatter Ronan.
In the end, they handed the Power Stone over to the Nova Corps for safekeeping.
At the recommendation of his ally, the Nova Corps, Star-Lord established an operational base for his team at the neutral station of Knowhere. The base possessed a convenient teleportation system spanning a vast range of the universe, laying a solid foundation for the Guardians of the Galaxy's pursuit of justice.
Later, Star-Lord learned of his origins. He was the son of a newly born member of the Celestials and possessed the bloodline of a newly born Celestial.
